Villain is frustrating (in a good way)

The third Painting the Mists box set continues to impress, deepening the story’s complexity while pushing Cha Ming and his allies to their limits. The worldbuilding remains as rich as ever, and the character development continues to shine, with both heroes and villains leaving a lasting impact.

A particular highlight of this installment is Jo Li. As an antagonist, he is infuriating in the best possible way—cunning, relentless, and always a step ahead. His presence raises the stakes significantly, making every victory feel hard-won and every setback all the more frustrating. He’s the kind of villain you love to hate, and his role in the story makes for some truly gripping moments.

With its well-paced action, intricate plotting, and increasingly high stakes, this box set is another fantastic entry in the series. I can’t wait to see how the conflicts continue to unfold!
