Acerca de esta escucha

Communicating and thriving in a neurodiverse relationship is possible. ADHD & Us gives couples the tools and strategies they need to connect as well as overcome the unique challenges they face on the road to long-term happiness and satisfaction.

Drawing from Anita Robertson's years of practice counseling couples with ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), this honest and straightforward guide helps couples better understand adult ADHD and how it affects relationships, while also providing the tools necessary for both partners to feel understood and respected. Learn how to avoid common conflicts, appreciate your differences, and meet each partner's needs. Together, you can make it happen.

This relationship guide for people with adult ADHD includes:

  • The five pillars of success (learn about the five relationship pillars-praise, acknowledgement, games, growth mindset, and positive acceptance - and how they are essential in a successful relationship)
  • A practical approach to adult ADHD (build communication skills and deepen your connection using engaging exercises that allow both partners to share in safe and constructive ways)
  • Modern and inclusive guidance

With expert advice based on the most-up-to-date understandings of adult ADHD, this book is designed for use in all kinds of relationships.

Good book for any adhd couple

Really helpful advice for couples struggling with adhd. Book was geared towards one partner with adhd and did not offer a lot of advice for if both partners have ADHD

Terrific book wonderful read

Thank you to the author for being so helpful. I was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago however, my mother had me diagnosed at two years old and I was never told until I started to experience being very different so thank you for this book. Thank you for reminding me that my brain isn’t broken. I’m just different in the many cases pleasantly unique. Take care and have a beautiful life. Read you again soon.

Painful to listen to

Though this book does not give any bad advice, most of the practical suggestions felt too juvenile for me to have any desire to engage in. I enjoy silly activities, but not lame ones. The bigger problem was the reader, who rarely seemed to understand when she had come upon the end of a sentence. Her inflection was so strange that it made the text more challenging for me to comprehend and became grating on my ears.

Meh

Examples were not helpful. Not as practical as I ha;d hoped with advice. The example stories did not feel relatable to my situation. Reading voice is robotic or artificial and annoying

Author doesn't have first hand experience with ADHD

I was offended more than once by the author's portrayal of the ADHD person.
