Acerca de esta escucha

If you have ADHD, your brain doesn't work in the same way as a "normal" or neurotypical brain does because it's wired differently. You and others may see this difference in circuitry as somehow wrong or incomplete. It isn't. It does present you with significant challenges like time management, organization skills, forgetfulness, trouble completing tasks, mood swings, and relationship problems.

In Your Brain's Not Broken, Dr. Tamara Rosier explains how ADHD affects every aspect of your life. You'll finally understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do. Dr. Rosier applies her years of coaching others to offer you the critical practical tools that can dramatically improve your life and relationships.

Anyone with ADHD - as well as anyone who lives with or loves someone with ADHD - will find here a compassionate, encouraging guide to living well and with hope.

Interesting and informative BUUUUUT

The way she pronounces “adHd” with the emphasis on the H is really annoying, I don’t know who told her to say it like that but it was like nails on a chalkboard every time. The overall narration is pleasant enough, except for that.

Informative and Suportive

This book is super! It helped me put together a lot of pieces in my life and provided me with insight into why the current treatment I’ve been receiving isn’t working (I am misdiagnosed). This book lays out the subtleties of the symptoms and then goes to the next level by providing strategies for managing life with ADHD better!

Don’t let the publisher dissuade you!

As a non-Christian, I was hesitant to purchase a book from a Christian publisher. I was pleased to find out that the author makes any sort of religious reference (i.e. god and the creator) twice in the entire book. It does not present a heavy-handed or preachy view of Christianity or any other particular faith practice. I’m glad I gave it a try because Dr. Rosier provides clear, actionable advice on how to live with ADHD.

HOWEVER, I do find it exploitive that a book obviously targeted at people who struggle to focus would neglect to include the appendices in a PDF along with the title. I have purchased several books from audible about a wide variety of topics that included PDFs far less useful than these would have been. That is a major and disappointing oversight by the publisher.

Overall, I am pleased with both the content and performance of this audio book. I highly recommend it for any person living with ADHD. If you can do it, the print or other visual version will better enable you to put Dr. Rosier’s advice into action.

I like her approach to task management.

Excellent read. Rosier made me feel heard and understood and gave me a lens to see my children through to help me understand their experiences with ADHD at school. She clearly gets it. I would like more real-life solution parenting advice for those parents with ADHD and their own ADHD children. This is such a multilayered problem—to keep your kids organized and functional when you struggle yourself. I’ll def recommend this book to my ADHD network and patients.

Refreshingly clear

This is the best book I’ve come across for determining ADHD symptoms and strategies. It made me realize many aspects I hadn’t considered before, like registering emotions.

Good info but narrator puts me to sleep!

I know the content is good, but the narrator is so monotone that I tune out no matter how hard I try to pay attention.

Must have for learning about ADHD

This book does very well with destigmatizing ADHD, examining what it is, and well as providing working strategies for dealing with it.
