When Caris' unearthly musical talent attracts the attention of the Wild Hunt, the Welsh farm girl is stolen away to serve as a faery grim, a herald of death. Two centuries later she's finally escaped back to the human world - and into the present-day life of a reclusive and heartbroken American musician.
Music was Liam's whole life - until a crushing betrayal left him desperate to flee the public eye. Yet long-dormant passions awaken within him after a powerful storm strands a beautiful, strong-willed woman on his isolated farm. When a fae prince bent on ruling both human and faery realms threatens Caris' life, Liam must decide if he can finally believe in love again, not just for her sake but for the sake of two worlds.
From the best-selling author of Changeling Moon, this sweeping and passionate story of paranormal romance follows two souls from different centuries who lost everything...and found that only love can save them.

I really would like to see it made into a movie because it is magical enough to grab the attention of children but enough themes and action to keep an adult mesmerized. I fell in love with Ranyon from the first book and couldn't get enough of the little guy. In my mind, he was partially "Groot & maybe with a little Dwarf thrown in but has a personality that won't quit. You can't help but love him and look forward to his parts in the books.
The first 3 books [and I hope there are more to come] each tell a tale of adversity and the struggles each couple has to find happiness. The wicked Fae have turned one of them into a Grim. You could tell that the research into Irish Mythology was extensive and made the books come alive. Sadly, I'm not ready to give the series up yet so I hope this wasn't just a trilogy and I can go back to the magical realm of the Grim Series.
I devour books and these books were addicting to me and I really hated to see the end. I know that I will return to listen to them again just to fall into that fantasy world Dani Harper created. I felt every emotion there was at some point in the books, fear, excitement, anxiety, frustration, wonder and a sense of mystery & romance. I haven't been this excited about a series in quite a long time & waited a few days to write my review because I wanted to see if my initial response to this series was the same as when the closing lines of book 3 ended. No change for me...I LOVE THIS SERIES and crave more. Are books 4, 5 and 6 ready yet?

Good Book but the ending stinks.

I cheered when the once broken-hearted Liam's eyes were opened to all that was invisible to normal humans and took her in. The chemistry was dynamic amidst all of the fighting and struggles to keep Caris in the human realm. Then I finally let out a pent up breath when I'd gotten to the end and there was still an HEA to be had. This was one great ride.
Always a wonderful Listen

Any additional comments?
I really liked Liam and Caris. Actually I liked the entire story. From Caris being taken by the evil Fae, Maelgyn, to her becoming human again, naked, in front of Liam. Embarrassing for her and wonderful for Liam. Even with a concussion he knew immediately what he wanted.Love, love, love Ranyon. What an awesome character. Love his “dontcha know” and “I have a charm fer that, a’course ” Although he was an Ellyll the narrator referred to him as an Essiss. I don’t get that pronunciation.
Now, let’s talk about the other characters. Maelgyn, the insane Prince who wanted to rule the world of the Fae as well as the human world. Rhedyn, Maedgyn’s “girlfriend.” Aurddolen, the Draigddynion ruler. Lucien, Lord of The Wild Hunt and Queen Gwenhidw. Morgan and Jay of Storm Warrior.
There was a little sexual tension but no sex until the last chapter.
This was a wonderful book but I think I would have become very frustrated if I’d just tried to read it and try to figure out how to pronounce these weird names.
As to the narrator: Ms. Eyre did a great job. Yeah, all her men sound just alike but at least they sound like men.
Great read..
