This fantastical story chronicles the adventures of a young farm girl named Dorothy in the magical Land of Oz, after she, her pet dog Toto, and her home are all swept away from Kansas by a tornado. To get back to her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry in Kansas, she must follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City to ask the Wonderful Wizard for help, something she couldn't do without the help of the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and several other friends she meets along the way.

Adapted from the novel by L. Frank Baum.... Dorothy lives in Kansas, but one day a cyclone blows her and her house to a strange country called Oz. There, Dorothy makes friends with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. But she wants to go home to Kansas. Only one person can help her, and that is the country’s famous Wizard of Oz. So Dorothy and her friends follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the Wizard.

A cranky old ram gets angry when the farmer shears his wool, but the little black sheep doesn't mind. In fact, she's trying to grow a little extra in order to help out a friend.

The story begins in a faraway corner of Oz, in the small country of Oogaboo. There Queen Ann Soforth musters an unlikely army and sets off to conquer the rest of Oz. Meanwhile, a girl from Oklahoma named Betsy Bobbin and her companion, Hank the mule, are shipwrecked and washed ashore in the Rose Kingdom, a magical land of talking roses. There they meet the Shaggy Man, who is on a quest to rescue his brother from the clutches of the evil Nome King.

Betsy Bobbin and her mule Hank find themselves on the shores of Oz after a storm. While trying to find their way home, they wander into the Rose Kingdom and are held prisoner by the Royal Gardener. Just in the nick of time, Shaggy Man falls through the roof of the greenhouse and tries to convince the Gardener to let the pair go, using his powerful Love Magnet. Unable to convince them, the trio is instead banished with Ozma's cousin, Princess Ozga, in tow.

Thanks to a contest sponsored by the International Wizard of Oz Club, Rinkitink now has a new ending written by Andrew J. Heller that is true to Baum's original concept.

When the Scarecrow is chased off the throne by a usurper, a small team of heroes must help him reclaim it. But is the Scarecrow the true ruler of Oz?

The novel involves Mayre Griffiths, nicknamed Trot, or sometimes Tiny Trot, who is a little girl who lives on the coast of southern California. Her father is the captain of a sailing schooner, and her constant companion is Cap'n Bill Weedles, a retired sailor with a wooden leg.

Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz is the fourth oz book. In this story, a California earthquake sends Dorothy and her new friends - Zeb the farm boy, Jim the cab-horse, and Eureka the mischievous kitten - tumbling through a crack in the ground. The Island of Yew is divided into five kingdoms, the central of which, Spor, is a place ravaged by crimes and robbers. One day, a young girl, Sesely, living in the nicer kingdom of Heg, is enjoying a picnic with some companions. A fairy comes down and begs them to help change her into a human. Sesely and her friends, amazed, obey her orders and soon they find themselves in the company of a young man, named Prince Marvel. Prince Marvel desires to go on adventures and become a hero, which he is able to do easily enough in crime-ridden Yew.

This is the timeless tale of Dorothy and her friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman, and the Cowardly Lion, in the enchanting land of OZ. Those who have only seen the movie are in for a real treat, as much of the book did not make it into the classic 1939 film.
