Publisher's summary

Jim Dale's Grammy Award-winning performance of J.K. Rowling's iconic stories is a listening adventure for the whole family.

There it was, hanging in the sky above the school: the blazing green skull with a serpent tongue, the mark Death Eaters left behind whenever they had entered a building... wherever they had murdered...

Close your eyes and enter the magical world of Harry Potter. In these editions, Jim Dale's characterful narration is so entertaining, fun, and theatrical you can almost hear the crackle of the fire in the Gryffindor common room.

When Dumbledore arrives at Privet Drive one summer night to collect Harry Potter, his wand hand is blackened and shrivelled, but he does not reveal why. Secrets and suspicion are spreading through the wizarding world, and Hogwarts itself is not safe. Harry is convinced that Malfoy bears the Dark Mark: there is a Death Eater amongst them. Harry will need powerful magic and true friends as he explores Voldemort's darkest secrets, and Dumbledore prepares him to face his destiny...

Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter stories never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new listeners.

Amazing Story! Poor App

Would you consider the audio edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Book 6 to be better than the print version?

No it's the same only someone is reading it to me.

What other book might you compare Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Book 6 to and why?

No other book can compare to Harry Potter period.

Have you listened to any of Jim Dale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Just Harry Potter series only. I love his voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was sad.

Any additional comments?

Audible, even though I love that you have added Harry Potter to your list of books I am also upset that each chapter of every Harry Potter book is missing it's chapter title which ruins the experience of this wonderful story but it is also disrespectful to J.K. Rowling and the art form of writing to totally disregard what Rowling wrote. If Rowling wanted the chapters to just be numbered she could have easily done that; she didn't; she named every chapter; the chapter titles enhance the experience not just an after thought. They are also functional because I may not always use the bookmarks or remember the number of the chapter I left off at. Often times I spot the chapters name and immediately know where I am in the story. You are the only app that I know of that doesn't include the chapter titles in there app. Please change your app to include the chapter titles for all digital audiobooks you sell.

A great book even after 100+ reads/listens

I love this book & even the whole series. I have been reading & listening to the whole series throughout the last 20 years &, have read through or listened to each book at least 100 times, still enjoy them. These books are far more then a "children's book series" as they delve into series adult topics & societal issues we face still today. I highly recommend this series & recommend reading them while young and as an adult as, the messages & understanding change as the reader grows & matures just as these characters do. No matter your thoughts on the Author, everyone should read this series & with an open mind.

One of my favorite series

I discovered Harry Potter at an advanced stage in my life. Although the books were released while I was growing up, I started listening to them when I was well over 30 years old. This being said, I can definitely appreciate what the author did here With each individual book and also with the series as a whole. I love the characters, I cared for them throughout these adventures and I also love the beautiful writing.
The narration is perfect. I went so far to also create a UK audible account in order to Listen to the other versions available. I love both Jim Dale and Stephen Fry, I think it depends on how exactly you want your performance to be delivered and for which of them you are in the mood at a specific time.
This is the journey of true friends, a story of friendship and a story of how good must always conquer over evil.
The Harry Potter saga has quickly become one of my all-time favorite series and even after listening to more than 1400 audiobooks, I return every year to spend time again and again with Harry, Ron, Hermione and all the other colorful characters brought to life by the mind of J. K. Rowling.

Narrator is Out of this world!!

The story follows book 5 wonderfully. Spends a lot more time on Harry's feelings and thoughts than in books 1-4., not a complaint though. Jim Dale is the best narrator they could've possibly picked for these books!! So glad he does all of them.
