• Stop Fexting: How Text Fights Are Ruining Your Relationship
    Nov 27 2024

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!

In this episode of Till the Wheels Fall Off, Matt and Paige dive headfirst into the digital dumpster fire of text fighting—aka "fexting." They tackle why arguing via text rarely accomplishes anything productive, how it’s become the modern default for conflict, and why it’s often a sign of deeper communication issues.

They explore why text fights are emotionally exhausting, miscommunication-prone, and give manipulators an easy playground. Plus, they ask the big questions: Is texting making relationships worse? Are you addicted to the back-and-forth drama? And why do we think texting someone into submission will actually work?

Matt and Paige also share tips to break free from the cycle, challenge listeners to stop fexting for 24 hours, and drop some truth bombs on why face-to-face conversations build real intimacy. With humor, personal anecdotes, and a few controversial hot takes, this episode will have you rethinking your text habits—and maybe even putting down your phone.

Also on the docket: Thanksgiving food debates, ambrosia salad, and why mashed potatoes don’t belong at the holiday table.

Don’t miss this one—it’s time to text less and talk more.

  • Pain and the Past: How We Faced Opiates Together After Years of Sobriety
    Nov 13 2024

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!

In this episode, we share our personal journey through Matt's recent surgery and the challenges of managing pain with opioids - his past drug of choice. This was scary, new territory for us and it's a slippery slope given the history of addiction. We discuss the emotional complexities surrounding the surgery recovery, how we planned in advance and discussed the decision to treat the pain with a dangerous substance, the accountability built into the situation, the importance of open communication, and how we navigated the fears and realities of pain management together. Opiates in an emergency setting are tricky in recovery, and we believe this conversation will be helpful and insightful for couples and individuals that are navigating difficult emotions around pain treatment in sobriety as well as those that have faced a relapse. This candid conversation highlights the significance of trust, accountability, and the growth that can come from facing difficult situations as a couple. We navigated this one successfully and we're both incredibly proud of how we faced it and we think you'll gain quite a bit from this one too if you find yourself having to go down this road.

  • Paige's Perspective: Why Self-Care is Essential for True Healing
    Nov 8 2024

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!

In this episode of Paige's Perspective, we're diving deep into the true power of self-care—not as a luxury, but as a crucial foundation for healing and growth. Self-care isn’t about spa days or quick fixes; it's about rebuilding from within and learning to prioritize ourselves so we can face life’s challenges with clarity and strength. We’ll explore how self-care helps us understand who we are, what we need, and what we stand for. Think of it as self-maintenance, like tuning up a car or maintaining a home—it’s ongoing, it’s essential, and yes, it takes effort. But by investing in physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual self-care, we empower ourselves to set boundaries, make healthier decisions, and break out of old cycles. This episode is here to remind you: self-care is the backbone of healing, and putting yourself first isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Let’s get excited about building the best version of ourselves. So, Wheelies, let’s get rolling!
