About this listen

Edie thought she was in love … until he told her he was marrying someone else.

Then, when he kisses her on the day of his wedding, life really starts to unravel.

Labelled a homewrecker, overnight Edie is the office outcast. To help, her boss offers a chance to get out of town, and she jumps at it.

But when this fresh start unexpectedly throws her into the path of Hollywood heartthrob Elliot Owen and the limelight, the question on everyone’s lips is: who’s that girl?

Edie is about to find out.

Thank goodness there’s a second book or I would be really upset about the ending of this one.

Ugh, the ending!

Very well read by the narrator, this fascinating psychological drama is rich in detail with amusing turns of phrase. There is character growth, plenty of self awareness, and swoony romance.

Gripping, relatable, romantic

I love McFarland's books and this is also enjoyable. But I keep hearing a click noise at the beginning of most of the narrator's lines, and I'm finding it really distracting. It sounds like maybe it was edited and pasted together, or some other kind of production noise.

Anyone else notice "clicks" in the recording?
