Absolutely love this series. I live with 13 felines-live for these cat stories, keep writing!

4.5 Stars. It is wonderful to be reunited with this cast of characters.

It has been a couple of years since I visited this series. How wonderful to get to spend time in this world again. In this story, Georgia’s nasty in-laws show up in town with every intention of taking their granddaughter home with them. Soon after, the mother-in-law is found dead at the bottom of a hill. Her head is bashed in. Whodunit?

Quote: “You don’t always get to choose. But when you do, choose happy.”

I highly recommend this entire series.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL SOPHIE KELLY BOOK!

I have read ALL of the “Magical Cats” books by Sophie Kelly (or so I thought I had)! Somehow, I missed this one (#14 in the series). I was DELIGHTED to figure this out while scrolling through one of Audible’s sales listings. This book was in the listings, but under the listing it said, “In Your Library.” After reading the description and listening to the sample, this book didn’t sound remotely familiar.

I went to my library, but had a terrible time locating the title. Something happened when I originally downloaded and must have forgotten all about having purchasing the book a long time ago.

The time I spent searching for the book and having to have my purchase restored by Audible, was worth every minute of my time and worth every penny of whatever I paid for the book at the time of its original purchase. EVERY PENNY!

It was wonderful spending time again with the very special Owen and Hercules (and Marcus’ kitty Mica towards the end of the story).

As always, head librarian, Kathleen Paulson, finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery. It takes some work for her to figure out “who-done-it,” but as always with the help of her heroes Owen and Hercules, Kathleen gets to the bottom of things (and again manages to put herself in serious danger while putting all the pieces of the puzzle together).

All my favorite characters are still present — all the quirky library employees, Kathleen’s fiancé, homicide detective Marcus, Roma, and all the rest of the gang. Plus, two new characters (the cause of the murder mystery investigation).

As always, Cassandra Campbell does a spectacular job — NOBODY else could be the voice of head librarian Kathleen Paulson! Ms. Campbell is among my all-time top three favorite narrators.💕

Just as with all of the “magical cats” books, this one ended much TOO SOON. Before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye to my friends once more, which left me feeling bereft. I have six cats of my own, but not one of them is able to take down bad guys or walk thru walls (although I do have one who bumps into them regularly; no magic — he’s just clumsy), nor do they “mrp” at me or lead me to lost items — they are likely the cause of lost items.

PLEASE MS. KELLY…MORE, MORE, MORE!!!

Loved it

Sofie Kelly once again has crafted another great installment in her Magical Cats series. The characters continue to grow and her storylines remain original.
Cassandra Campbell, as always, gave a stellar performance as she brought the story to life giving each character their own distinct voice along the way.
If you’re a cat lover and enjoy cozy mysteries then this series is for you.

very enjoyable

I do enjoy reading this series. Kathleen and the fearsome twosome are back in action. A questionable murder of Georgia's ex mother-in-law and Georgia being a suspect is just one of several mysteries that occur. Little Mica puts her paw down to get what she wants

It's about time!

another 5 srar all around. Will we get to hear about the wedding. Will all 3 cats get to be in the wedding? We need the next book....soon.

Highly recommended

This is one of my favorite cozy murder mystery series, and this book is a worthy book in the series. Engaging characters, cozy but intriguing puzzle, and very good entertainment.

Great Story and Narrator

Loved it!! And narration was very good. I didn't know who did it till the very end.

Somewhat flat

I did not enjoy this book as much as some of the other ones. I really noticed how the relationship between Marcus and Kathleen seemed very flat. just no sparks or romance or sex. she basically engages with him like one of her cats. she seemed to be more flirtatious with Marcus's father than with him. there was more Chemistry Between Elliot and Kathleen between Marcus and kathleen. I know this series won't go in that direction but it's just an observation. Marcus is so stable and boring and there's just not any chemistry or dynamism between them. I liked it better when she was single.
