About this listen

Life has always been sweet on Georgia's Peach Cove Island, but a case of murder has Marygene Brown down in the pits....

For generations, the women of the Brown family on Peach Cove Island have been known for their Southern sass and sweet homemade desserts at their beloved Peach Diner. Since their mother's passing two years ago, Marygene has been stuck in Atlanta while her sister Jena Lynn has been running the family business. Now Marygene has left her husband and returned to her hometown, where she can almost feel Mama's presence.

But all is not peachy back home. Marygene has barely tied on an apron when a diner regular drops dead at the counter. When it turns out the old man's been poisoned, Jena Lynn is led away in handcuffs and the family eatery is closed. Now, to save her sister and the diner, Marygene must find the real killer. With some startling assistance from her Mama's spirit, Marygene will be serving up a special order of just desserts....

Sometimes a little cheesy- just enough drama and magic to keep the story moving.

I wasn’t crazy about the reader. It was difficult to tell one character from the other. The inflection was off. I figured when it was male but all the females sounded the same.

The story was good. That’s why I gritted my teeth through the story.

The storyline is good

I was really missing the Low Country Liz Talbot series by Susan Boyle and stumbled upon this book. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Not a literary masterpiece but it you’re in the mood for a southern cozy mystery, this hits the spot with quirky characters, a sense of community, and great food descriptions.

Cozy Mystery

i enjoyed the book and had several possible criminals so thats enjoyable. The only thing i didnt like, as a southern, is i felt the accent was a bit overdone by the narrator. Thats so minor though.

enjoy the characters!

This book was the perfect combination of mystery and romance. I never got bored with it, and found myself wanting to drive somewhere just to listen to another chapter.

Kept me interested the whole time

a good listening of a mystery, even love the little paranormal part of the mom popping in & out nut always there when needed, a good mystery from the beginning even with the messed up family but there when the other needs the help no matter what. can't wait for the next series.

Interesting story and very good reading, but the main character was so annoying. Arrogant, reckless and self centered. Why? Why cant the main character ever just act like a normal person? I’d like to love them not be embarrassed for their major personality issues.

Why is the main character a jerk?
