good story

I liked the characters especially Desiel, Drags on a little but fell in to ending,

Great narrator, good cozy mystery

Good story and great narrator. I like the cozy mysteries and this one is interesting and easy to listen to.

It was certainly PC.

i couldn't get past that the book was written in first person and the main character was a man but was performed by a woman who made no effort to sound like a man. Why do that? I couldn't get used to it. Other female performers do a much better job making all the characters different and sounding pretty credible and in the right gender. Decent plot, nice surprise ending. Too focused on the mundane, although that might grow on me if it continues throughout the series. I liked the cat.

Talk about a Surprise ending!

The plot was off the chain! Kept me guessing to the very end. I can usually figure out “who done” very on but not this time. Well written & narrated, Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Why a female narrator?

The book was okay. This was a new to me author. Interesting twists. My main confusion was the female narrator. I listen to a Lot of books. This is the first one I’ve heard with a female narrator when the main character is a male, and it’s written in first person.

Best series

Excellent writing and character development. Can’t wait for the rest of the series. Love the cat!

Great story and narrator

The story is a straight on good character mystery with twists and a loveable Mainecoon cat. You’ll probably want to listen at one time like I did!

Lead character is a male

The main character in the story is a male. unfortunately, they chose a female narrator and I just could not get past her voice as the man's voice.

Female narrator is an odd choice

I've listened to many of the books in the series and I keep hoping the choice of a female narrator will make sense. She is a good narrator but since the lead character is male, I find it very distracting to hear "him" in a female's voice.
