BEST Road-trip Couple, yet!!!

Theo & Devyn...all the feels!! Best friends since childhood until tragic life circumstances separate them in distance, but another tragic event brings them back together.

Evans has outdone herself with this one!! By far my FAVORITE Road Trip book yet. I found myself drawing out the story much longer than I usually would simply because I didn't want the story to end. It'll be one I reread again and again.

The emotional roller coaster What Comes After had me on was like no other book in a long time. The friendship Theo and Devyn had was such so heartwarming. While parts of it will break your break, like tragedies do, seeing the love and support Theo's entire family shows Devyn is unmatched!!

I listened to this on Audio, which was AMAZING. These two narrators worked seamlessly together. They brought out every single emotion top notch. Ahhhh I hate it's over, because it was so good!

Best Friends to Lovers...Eventually

Theo and Devan have been best friends since they were young kids and fell in love young, but never said anything. Years go by and a tragedy brings Theo back home to help Devan recover. Absolutely beautiful romance that I could not stop listening to. Vanessa Edwin used a young girl's voice for the parts when Devan was little and it just made this narration amazing.

Slow burn that was 100% worth the wait

There are days that my heart can’t take a slow burn and then there are days like today that I am gifted with a story like What Comes After and the slow burn is everything I NEEDED and more. Ugh, this was fantastic! My ears are already wanting to listen to the phenomenon Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin bring this beautiful story back to my ears. I absolutely loved Theo and Devyn’s second chance romance. I mean come on, childhood best friends who miss their chance and it takes a traumatic even to bring them back together and face what they have both wanted their who lives, I felt like a kid in a candy store listening to this. I loved it from start to finish!

Loved this!

It takes a moment, just one, to change the course of one’s life. For Devyn, it was many moments that charted her journey in life. It seemed that every pivotal moment would add to her already suffering soul while her best friend Theo found celebratory moments. It was almost as if one had to suffer for the other to find joy. Now those are the parallels I saw, my overactive mind on overdrive. Theo and Devyn may have grown apart but one call was all it took for Theo to come racing home to his best friend. Maybe when they’re together, the good stuff will cancel out the bad, their relationship could balance everything. I loved Theo and Devyn’s friendship. It grew from childhood through adulthood and solidified a foundation for anything that comes after. Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock voiced these characters with much talent. The personalities and emotions came through.

Theo and Devyn had my heart from the first chapter

My heart absolutely broke for Devyn and all the tragedy life threw at her. Growing up she had her best friend Theo, until she didn't. Feelings felt but words unspoken from both of them led to many years apart until a life or death situation saw them reunited. Theo was the only one that could heal Devyn and heal her he did, both emotionally and physically. Their journey back to one other was beautiful. While Devyn thought Theo had a new life that didn't include her - he was there all along - only miles separating them but their hearts always belonged to each other. This is one of my favorite friend to lovers story I've ever listened to/read, and I only wish there was more. Their HEA couldn't have been any more perfect! Aaron Sherlock and Vanessa Edwin were phenomenal as Theo and Devyn.

Sweet Romance with a Slow Burn

What Comes After was an entertaining listen with a heartfelt story. Childhood best friends, friends to lovers, and, a second chance romance. Devyn and Theo had a great relationship and were inseparable from the age of 8 but as life moves on after high school they lose the closeness they once had as life takes them in different directions. Devyn has been dealt a very difficult hand in life and it seems like the hits just keep on coming for her. Theo is off making movies as a well-known actor and Devyn is struggling in their hometown, when tragedy strikes once again, Theo makes the trip home and their relationship is rekindled. The story is told in both past and present and we do linger in the past for quite a while. I found a lot of the story to be predictable but still entertaining. Theo and Devyn had a lot to work out from not being in each other's daily life for years and I had hoped they would have been more direct and open from the beginning! I loved Theo's parents and how they loved Devyn after her loss.

Narrators - Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock were both great and really brought the story home for me even more. Their narration was smooth and a good fit for Theo and Devyn.

An emotional ride as two best friends journey

An emotional ride as two best friends journey through life's trials and tribulations. The flashbacks to them as kids helped listeners feel how their bond was shaped, and helped you feel the devastation of separation. Life happens, but luckily for these two friends, fate still prevails after some rocky side roads, and Devyn's latest trial will wake up Theo so he fights for the girl he loves. A friends-to-lovers story with plenty of love to pull at your heartstrings and some suspenseful moments with great narration bringing it to life as they finally get their HEA.

1st time for this series!!

Oh my gosh!! First time I am reading/listening to this series and it was amazing.. And perfect follow up to a Harper Security Ops book 3 that I just finished (again).. I loved that we got to know what happened to Theo and his mysterious issue at home. It is well written and portrayed!! Ok, what is next??!!

YESSSSS!!! I’ve Been Impatiently Waiting for This!

Theo McCormick is by far one of my favorite A.K. Evans side characters, and I was really hoping we’d eventually get a story for him. Imagine my joy when he popped up as the hero in “What Comes After,” the latest in Evans’s Road Trip Romance series. This is such a great story, and I can’t help but want to adopt Devyn for all the yuck she’s had thrown at her in her life. Theo is as sweet as he is $exy, and their journey to a much-deserved and long overdue HEA is full of heart and heat! The only thing that made Theo more lovable: the narration by the amazing Aaron Shedlock. And playing to the vulnerability in Vanessa Edwin’s Devyn? Magic. As always, Evans is a masterful storyteller who has us sucked in from the word “Prologue.” Love this story with my whole being!!!

A wonderful touching story

Devastating news reaches Theo bringing him back home. Could this be a chance for them to finally find their HEA, or will those dreams be crushed forever?
At times heartbreaking, it was a wonderful story.
The narrators, Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin did a great job with the voices.
