Acerca de esta escucha

Joshua Brandt cuts ties in Tennessee and goes in search of his brother in the Wyoming Territory. Along the way he finds old friends and new enemies. A Texas judge lets him forge an unlikely team of U.S. Marshals. He leads them against train robbers and land-grabbers, and finds some unexpected ways to bring law, order, and justice to the West. The marshals make their way toward Wyoming and the biggest challenge yet in a town where Joshua will learn the truth about his missing brother and face down men who think nothing can stop their grab for gold and power.

"I think you need to go outside and get some air, my friend."

"You're that marshal everyone is talking about. You would rather talk than fight."

"I like to keep the peace, you could say."

The man turned to the other men at the table. "He is a coward with a badge." He spat, hitting the floor an inch from Joshua's right boot. The other three men at the table laughed.

"I'm going to ask you again. Go outside and cool off."

The man stood there boring holes in Joshua with his eyes. Their eyes met for another moment until the man reached for his gun. Joshua drew his Colt from his left holster and pointed it at the man's chest. He froze and his eyes widened. The man sitting in the middle of the table started to stand slowly. Joshua drew his Colt from his right holster and pointed it at him, without taking his eyes off the man standing.

"There are four of us, and you have both guns spoke for," said a third man at the table. His face slid from smug to scared when he felt Anna's Schofield push against the back of his head. The man raised his hands slowly.

Action packed story of one man's quest to find his long lost brother, leads him into a series of life and death conflicts.

The story teller uses his many voices to
get to know each character and literally
draw the listener into the action.

All who listen will enjoy the time spent and empathize with the characters.

An entertaining story, well narrated, with lots of action. Characters were interesting; however, the fast draw gunfights were not authentic seeming for that period nor necessary.

If you could sum up Trail Dust in three words, what would they be?

Action, Entertaining, Fun

What was one of the most memorable moments of Trail Dust?

I loved the scene when the Army squadron agreed to help out Joshua to capture the marauders. It had action, suspense, and comedy.

Which character – as performed by Mark E Clason – was your favorite?

The Thomas character was great. A well written, genuine character. Mark E. Clason did a tremendous job vocalizing the character. Totally realistic and fun to listen to. I also liked the voice Mark E Clason used for the Kenny character. Very authentic sounding.

If you could take any character from Trail Dust out to dinner, who would it be and why?

That would be Joshua. He is a thoughtful, human character that came through as very interesting and creative. I would like to pick his brain on everything from psychology to combat strategy.

Any additional comments?

Pistols, Rifles, Sawed off Shot-guns, Knives, and a Gatling Gun! This book was great fun to listen to. The story was fast paced and the action sequences were fantastic. The wide array of character voices Mark E Clason used/created is unparallelled in other audiobook projects. With both the terrific story and top notch vocal talent, this book will be on my top 10 favorites of all time and I will definitely listen to many times. I can't wait for the movie. I also look forward to reading more books by John Miller and audiobooks voiced by Mark E Clason.

Have you listened to any of Mark E Clason’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a first for me but I look forward to listening to him again.

Any additional comments?

Everybody loves a book about the good guy that always seems to make the right decisions. This is definitely one of those. The ending makes us want to hear more and shows all the signs of being the possible beginning of a series. I can't wait to hear the next one!! Another great book by John Miller.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Trail Dust?

When the young child tries to ride Joushas' horse. How he handles the horse and defuses the situation when someone wants to shoot the horse after the ride. ALSO ,When Anna smokes a cigar and Thomas just can't believe it.

What does Mark E Clason bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hearing the concern, fear, and accents that the characters have as the story progress, that do not happen with the written words.
