Publisher's summary
Detective Everleigh Beckett and P.I. Isaac Stern have partnered to solve two missing persons cases in time for the Christmas holidays, but when a man shows up in a hospital, claiming to be Adam O’Sullivan, Everleigh has to decide if he’s delusional or telling the truth.
The case of Adam and Caleb O’Sullivan has haunted the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for decades. The brothers were believed to have been abducted by their father, Mitchell, more than forty years before, but no trace of them had ever been found.
Everleigh believes she and Isaac can find the answers in an off-the-grid commune sequestered in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, but FBI agent Dwight Aldrich wants to solve the case himself.
Will Everleigh and Isaac find the truth, or will they find themselves in danger from a reclusive commune that just wants to be left alone?

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

The Commune
This is an interesting cold case investigation. Everleigh Beckett a detective with Missing person division along with the help of Isaac (retired cop) and now a private eye. They are interested to get the truth from Adam who was abducted along with brother Caleb by their father and taking to an evil cult ( commune run by Russell ) and once there can never leave or die. A interesting story with twists and turns also involving the FBI with great narration. Only complaint too short and cannot wait for next one Chasing Courage. Wonderful Story
I enjoy listening to a series that I can follow the character's development through multiple stories and still have the story flow if you don't listen to the books in order. Kelley Hazen has done a wonderful job with Trading Time. The characters have distinct voices and it is easy to get involved and have to finish the story in one sitting.

An Awesome Listen
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it extremely enjoyable. A man shows up the ER after being shot, claiming to be a man missing for over 4 decades. Everleigh Beckett from the Missing Persons Division is notified. She recruits the help of P.I. Isaac Stern to investigate the victim's story of his life being held in a cult. But they soon find a mystery in a mystery. A great story with lots mystery and humour. This combination of author and narrator never fails to draw you into their world.

Great Read
Trading Time was a great read by M.L. Hamilton. Detective Everleigh Beckett and P.I. Isaac Stern have partnered to solve two missing persons cases already. A man shows up in a hospital and claims to be Adam O'Sullivan, one of the brothers that were believed to be abducted by their father more than forty years ago. There has been no traces of them since the day they went missing. Everleigh and Isaac believe they can find the answers in an off the grid commune. I enoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
