About this listen
The ladies of Butternut Creek Christian Church known as the Widows have always taken pride in their infallible matchmaking. They've succeeded again, and having found the perfect wife for Pastor Adam, they're ready to start planning the wedding. The one problem is that Adam has yet to propose. Clearly he still needs their help. Meanwhile, Adam's sister Hannah, a doctor, has returned from work in refugee camps, exhausted from the horrors she's seen. Though physically weak, Hannah becomes animated when verbally sparring with Gabe Borden, the high school basketball coach. Faith, family, and small town dynamics
I loved this book. I grew up in a small Texas town so the dynamics of everyone know your business is something with which I’m familiar. This is a heartwarming story about family, faith, and friendship.

Small town Texas at its best
Enjoyed the story and relatable characters.
As a Texas Hill Country native it was fun to hear about places that were familiar to me, with the exception of the fictional town of Butternut Creek.
My only criticism is the narrator's way of pronouncing the town names incorrectly, i.e.; Burnet, Llano and San Saba. I think it would be a great idea in future endeavors to call the city offices of real places and ask how their names are pronounced.
Oh, and also, when reading a Texas based book, pronounce the word pecan (puh-con) as Texans do, not as southern folk do.

Really enjoy this series
I have really enjoyed this series and getting to know the people of Butternut Creek. This one ended a bit more abruptly than I would have preferred. I sure wish there was a book 4.

Romantic, clean and funny
I really like the mix of real life stuff with absolute hilarity. The part of the story of the new police officer coming upon Adam and his sister gardening at night is priceless.
I also like how much I can relate to this story. I’m pretty sure anyone who has ever lived in a small town can relate people in this story.
My only complaint is that there aren’t any more series by this author that I have found. I wish for more.
