Forbidden

Hot student/teacher romance that is forbidden in more ways than one. The heroine has issues she is aware of and she is actively trying to work on. I liked her despite her slightly obsessive tendencies. I felt for the hero for reasons I can't disclose without spoiling! He is an a**hole but for some reason I fell for him anyway. The story is steamy and angsty.

Narration was perfect! Love Anna's voice.

Erotic, Intelligent, Heart-wrenching Consuming 🔥

This book is one of the best written love stories on Amazon right now, hands down. It’s definitely a re-readable book, demanding that you lose yourself in the compulsive relationship between these two tortured souls, desperately seeking comfort and solace with one another. I, however, appear to be in the minority in thinking the narration could have been so much better than it was performed by both the female and male readers. This book is good enough to own both the kindle and the audible versions, no doubt. But I felt like both narrators rushed their readings, and failed to lend the deeper notes and tones of conflict and abject lust the characters were written with. Saffron Kent is an amazing talent at capturing both the height and depth of ecstatic love. I hope she chooses different narrators for her next conversion to audiobook.

Cheating but hear me out

This was done in a really good way, I think. I love the happy ending. This has many broken people in this story. It was gripping from the start.

This is not what I expected

This is the type of book most don’t like because of the trope. I get it. However I forgot about that and focused on the characters. They were so complex and interesting, yet chicken shit.
HEA yes, but is it?

You have to be ready for something different

If that makes sense, this is more of a real-life love story than a book love story.
Two broken (not sexy broken) really broken people find each other when their lives are in crisis, and they use each other to feel better, but it turns into something real and sweet. The bad reviews are people who expected the same old dark romance, and this definitely is not the case. I'm still unsure how I feel, except I'm glad they got their HEA. ❣️

Two broken people find forbidden love 💔

First off Anna Riordan did a top notch job of carrying the brunt of the narration weight. My only complaint... not enough Joe Arden. If you're going to have a talented narrator like Joe he should have done all the male parts. Anyway, on to the review.
This is one of those books that's so morally wrong, it's a sin to enjoy it as much as I did. Thomas is married with a child and Layla is his obsessed stalking student. While his wife Hadley is in her own postpartum world, she is neglectfully absent. Is this a good reason for Thomas to play the field? Of course not! And yet I still I couldn't help but be submerged in this well-written, angst-ridden drama with it's heart breaking casualties.
The broken Layla is certainly not innocent but after an emotionally traumatic incident she's riddled with self blame and insecurities. It's a shame she can't see her own self worth. These 2 find common ground in the requited love that forms a mutual dependency for each other. Eventually love will let the light into their darkly tainted lives.. But will it be with each other? You ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY have to spend the credit and find out.

Loved it!

I love stories that are about topics that most deem socially inappropriate. I loved this book from page 1. I loved the characters, it was hot, and was a great story. Highly recommend

Great listen. The narrators were great. Both are my favorite narrators. A lot of feelings.

Amazing

I read the ebook version of The Unrequited and fell in love with this story, with Thomas , with Layla , with Nicky with their struggles, passionate love ; with everything. And I thought, I couldn't possibly love it more than I already do... How wrong I was! After listening to The Unrequited , I know know that I Flove this book. That this story will stay with me forever, that I will revisit this characters again and again because this story is one of the best taboo read ever written.

Amazing

The love story of Thomas and Layla is one of the best written. I've read it several times and listened to the audio 3 times. It is imperfect perfect.
