About this listen

The Sorrows, an island off the coast of northern California, and its castle have been uninhabited since a series of gruesome murders in 1925. But its owner needs money, so he allows film composers Ben and Eddie and a couple of their female friends to stay a month in Castle Blackwood.

Eddie is certain a haunted castle is just the setting Ben needs to find inspiration for a horror film. But what they find is more horrific than any movie.

Something is waiting for them in the castle. A malevolent being has been trapped for nearly a century. And he’s ready to feed.

Very Arduous Read

Very confusing and arduous read. It was hard to keep track of who was what! SPOILER ALERT...Who was Gabriel really? And how did he, a little boy then, live in the woods by himself before he was found? Was he the monster? If not where did the monster come from? And how could Gabriel visit Eva a hundred years later? And what was the deal with Eddie at the end with a burned woman and baby? What did that have to do at all with the story line? If Gabriel was walled up, and the 3 people responsible carried on their lives, not to mention writing in the diary, how was it Chris found those same 3 men instead of Gabriel’s skeleton walked in the tower? There were so many parts that made no sense. At one point there were so many characters that it was hard to tell what was going on. First the “pilot” of the chopper was dead, then he was alive, then dead and buried, then alive (author was talking about 2 different pilots but didn’t make that clear till later). And the very last line made no sense-who else’s baby would Claire be carrying? Too many loose ends and way too long a story. I actually have a headache after this one!!!
