About this listen

Get ready to fall in love with this royally charming rom com — featuring a full cast and an immersive audio soundscape!

Maggie Patel has landed her dream job at The New York Spectator; or, it would be, if she could get a decent story assignment. When a career-making interview finally lands on her desk, it’s with the last person she’d ever want to see again — Edward, the Crown Prince of Bairmorne...and her long-ago friend.

When Maggie was a child, her mother worked as a housemaid at the Royal Palace of Bairmorne, a small European nation, until they were unceremoniously kicked to the curb...amidst a cloud of whispered controversy and palace intrigue. Now, Prince Edward and Maggie are all grown up and they both have jobs to do — but there’s a spark between them they can’t deny. Will that spark lead to something more, and can their attraction withstand public scrutiny, royal duty, and secrets from the past?

LOVED the full cast

This is the perfect book to lift your spirits and make them soar. The perfect escape, the perfect fairy tale, and the perfect romantic comedy. It's sweet, wholesome and lighthearted but heartwarming and full of emotion, making for a low angst, uplifting read. The full cast of narrators was PHENOMENAL!! It was the first time i’ve listened to a book with a full cast and I felt like I was listening to a movie.

Could Have Done Without The Music

I could’ve done without the music and the kissing noises, but I did like how there were different voices for each character.
The story was cute and predictable, but a couple twists and turns were thrown in. I enjoyed listening to this book.

Really cool audio “Movie”

Not a very unique story or anything but the production amd the multiple narrators and soundeffects really helps keep you engaged! Very cool. The plot twist at the end was ad hoc—but with the new global religion, sheep will always kneel at the altar. I have no problem with the plot twist’s content, just that it’s so obviously and weakly thrown in to meet the quota.

Either way would definitely recommend, very entertaining.

Good story, really did not like execution

Don't really leave reviews on audio books. This book was a good story, and I enjoyed all the different performers. However, who ever thought all the music was a good idea, I really disagree. The music made it very distracting and added no value to the story. Others may think different.

Loved It

This was a delightful story. All the interaction, great. Narration was extremely well done--all the characters. You could tell who was who. The music along with it, on time.

I wish the other books could be done like this.

I could most definitely see this one as a Hallmark or Lifetime movie with all of the same persons playing the parts.

Annoying music!

The story was adequate, predictable but adequately cute for a romcom. But it was punctuated by the most annoying music it was really distracting from the story and just made no sense at all. And some of it went on for a long time there are much better ways to break between chapters

Musical interludes? Yuck!

The cast was great and the story was fun! Most of the music between scenes was horrible and had me dreading each one! They took me out of the story!!!

Distracting audible.

This needs to be significantly edited. All of the in-between scenes music was ridiculous. I know that the intention was to be a more immersive experience but it ended up being a distracting mess. I now do not like multi-voiced audibles. The man-woman POV is fine but this was so muddied it hurt. That being said, the story was great. The delivery was lacking.
