1st JP book I've ever read will NOT be my last
I've really enjoyed listening to this book. Kept me interested and really wanting to see what was next. Even during "lull" moments, I wanted to get back in my car or wherever so I could see what was going to happen. There was definitely surprises toward the end, but worth the wait.

Entertaining
It was nice to hear Mrs. Parton’s voice. She gave me an instant smile. I forgot what a good actor she is. I was impressed the book brought attention to crimes against women and young people. Four stars because parts of the book were a little predictable. I did find myself laughing out loud and entertain by some of the southern one-liners.

DETAILS! I NEED DETAILS!!
I am a reader. I have been a reader for 72 years… and a listener for the 4 years when I was too young to read and my family read to me. This book, however, is my first audiobook. Yes, seriously. My rating would be EXCELLENT except for one thing: I am a detail-oriented person who was sorely disappointed in the lack of DETAILS!! I suppose that, in order to keep Annie’s secret, it took a certain “always-leave-them-wanting-more” format, but so much of the story was not told. For me, details were sadly lacking. If you are satisfied with a just fleshed-out outline, don’t miss “Run Rose Rose”: the story, itself, is great. Just don’t expect to know enough about the people you come to care about!

narration edited ackwardly
narration arranged awkwardly. when interior thoughts were whispered they were inadudible. talk singing the lyrics did not accomplish it's objective. it was wonderful to listen to Dolly Pardon read lines, and loved learning details about music industry.
