Acerca de esta escucha

This audiobook is the official prequel, introducing key concepts that then will explode onto the screen in the movie The Predator.

The official prequel novel leads into the summer blockbuster The Predator, Shane Black's new movie set within the universe of the previous films. With a screenplay by Shane Black and Fred Dekker, the film stars Yvonne Strahovski, Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Sterling Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Edward James Olmos, Jake Busey, and more.

Author James A. Moore, previously known for Alien: Sea of Sorrows, will work closely with Christopher Golden, author of the official novelization.

This was a fun way to gear up for the movie, and super enjoyable to listen to. Definitely worth the credit!

They have a tell-tale shimmer!

I actually liked this story better than what was actually used in the 2018 predator film… The character trigger seems more adept and competent and less likely to blow off his own head with untested weaponry in this story. The reapers seemed pretty bad ass, akin to Dutch Schaeffers team in the original film. The performance was really good; I liked the narrators tone as it was similar to the one he used in the predator video game tying that came out earlier this year (2020).

Good story

this should have been the story for the movie instead of the story used in Shane Black's movie. I enjoyed the story except for the ending, standard disappointment.

better story than movie

Wow, it’s been a long time since I watched the movie Predator starring Arnold; 2010. I thought of that after listening to this prequel by James Moore. I like the book overall. I think it’s pretty good, although nothing like the 2010 movie. The narrator was uninspiring and monotone but I was involved in the story so it didn’t bother me too much. Don’t publishers monitor things like this? Anyway, the covert team member characters were just okay, we got no background and knew nothing about them. That would have improved the tale as well. Can’t prequels include backgrounds on the characters? The book was long enough as it is at almost seven hours. Oh well, that’s not much of a recommendation, is it? The action involved in chasing down the Predator is all that saves it. Hmm… I almost talked myself out of a rating star. Ha!

The first movie is better!

It was enjoyable to listen to. The narrator did a decent job. The only issue I had was in the story. You have an elite unit of spec ops guys who attempt to take on a Predator in CQB but really seem to shoot the scant amount of armor when engaging. I understand they can’t really see where they’re shooting when the creature is cloaked but you would figure that after a few shots they would adjust to hit center mass of unarmored torso instead of repeatedly shooting the one square foot of impenetrable faceplate. Not to say that didn’t happen at all but the repetition took away from the believability that theses guys are the best. Having said all that, still enjoyed the story and would recommend to anyone who likes the franchise.

Excellent story. The only complaint is that while it was narrated….well, the voices quickly started sounding alike. If one doesn’t pay attention to the names there is sometimes zero change it character voices. would have been better if narrated by either a bigger cast, or someone with more than 3 voices and one of those is his narrating voice.

Excellent story.Limited range

"THE PREDATOR: Hunters & Hunted"
written excellently by James A. Moore, narrated wonderfully by James Patrick Cronin

This is a surprisingly good, intelligent, riveting, & “Astonishing Tale!”

It’s visceral action reads as good as Robert E. Howard.

As a matter of fact, this book had me thinking that the “Predator” was a lot like an alien version of “Conan”.
This is the “What If…” story of Robert E. Howard’s barbarian character as a non-earthly “Conan the Hunter” and he lands on our planet.

By the end I was on the edge of my seat, and a little misty eyed.
That only happens when a writer creates characters so real you start to care about them.
I cared who lived and who didn't.

A very good narrator who not once got in the way of the very fine story.
Wonderful story telling and an excellent Audio book.

I'm "Old Man Parker" an' I highly recommend this very good book.

“Conan the Hunter” lands on our planet.
