Acerca de esta escucha

Ruby Turner was never meant to be mine.

When I first met her, she was a fresh, young American sports journalist trying to find her footing in a new life abroad. She was the one interviewing me for an article, yet I wanted to know more about her. She captivated me. But she went home with Marco that night. My agent. My brother.

And I did what I could to pretend I was fine with it. After all, I'm Luciano Ribeiro. As the captain of Real Madrid and Portugal's National Team, it's my job to be cool, calm, and collected, not easily rattled. Only what I felt for Ruby over time shook me to my very core. It made me do things I never imagined I would do.

It started with a stolen kiss in the middle of the night. It led to a passionate tryst. It created a burden of guilt that I had to carry, as Ruby came in and out of my life until she left for good, leaving her mark on me.

Now, seven years later, she's back. She was the one who got away. I don't think I'll let her go this time. But I might not have a choice. Because my heart still belongs to her. And her heart might belong to my brother.

Contains mature themes.

Female lead is impulsive, immature and a bit selfish but when it comes to telling him to truth of why she left him, it takes her forever to do so. Still selfish with only 1.5 hours left when she wants to interview him so she can further her career and stay in the country. Stupid. Sex scenes were good but that was the only thing that was great about this book.

Immature

Ughhh I couldn’t stand Ruby during the whole book, especially during the end. I almost quit reading halfway through but I pushed through

I wanted to love this one, but it was just a bit too drawn out. How many times can bad choices keep you falling on your face before you realize that holding things in is really what keeps you failing. I loved the characters, the basis of the story, but the rubber band just stretched way too much for me.

Angst.. too much angst..

I was hoping she writes Luciano’s story and oh god it did not disappoint. It was so much better than what I anticipated. The feels 🥺

I've truly loved this book. Took you on such a journey to get to the wonderful end and the happiness. I think this is Karina's best book

Wow what a journey

This was so slow and drawn out. So much of this story was boring drawn out things that didn't captivate me at all. It's mostly small dumb dramas that just annoy you and don't get at your emotions much. I found myself so annoyed at how stupid many of their actions and decisions were, but was in the mood for a lighter read and not a book hangover. I'd say this was so slow it was almost worse than the emotional hangover from other books, I found myself wanting to skip through much of it. It has some decent spice and a HEA. The "villain" was dumb, he made no sense and I don't understand why anyone took him seriously or allowed him to become a villain in their lives. It bothered me that the h went from one brother to the other the way she did.
