Unexpectedly great!

OK so this was my listen on vacation. It was perfect while laying out getting some 🌞. This hot steamy listen kept me engaged. The story had just enough hotness along with angst to keep you pinning for more. Teddy and Andy were the perfect duo for this story. They made Lala and Holden come alive for me. 5 🌟 all the way!

Love the opposites attract series!

Vi and Penelope are so awesome with their writing, both individually and together but my favorites are together. I listened to this when it came out and made the mistake of not reviewing. Holden and Lala are definitely opposite in the best way possible. I loved The Rules of Dating, which had me listening non-stop and this book was the same for me. The narration was fantastic too! I love Andi Arndt (one of my favorite female narrators) and Teddy Hamilton was the perfect Holden. I never knew what was going to happen but I love the way everything worked out. This is a definite must read!!!

Great story, bad male narrator

Great story. Andy did a great job narrating as always, but Teddy Hamilton not so much. I almost had. To stop listening because I found him to be so annoying. I get Holden is supposed to be arrogant but the over acting was unnecessary.

ok...I just finished this and just wow! I started it yesterday and didn't want to put it down! I loved the plot, characters and more than once got emotional. I won't include any spoilers but yes...I had tears running down my face at the end.
Now I'm going to go buy every single book Vi and Penelope have written. Definitely the best book I've read this year- (144 so far). I can't recommend this one enough...Can't imagine anyone with legit criticism I'd agree with. The narration was great too! Definitely buy this one!

So Very Good!!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a great book! Though I am trying to decide on the star rating…  4.5 stars or the full 5.. 


Pros: Loved the chemistry between Lala and Holden. The tropes of childhood friends, best friend's sister and the slow burn friends to lovers were all written so well!  It's funny, sexy, has great supporting characters and just makes you want to keep reading. Seriously, I couldn't put it down.


Cons: She has a fiancé and they both toed the unfaithful line… which is really not my thing.. I don't like the grey area around cheating.. I'm a "you are" or "you are not" kinda girl. Only other con was the sexytimes… The first one in the book took me by surprise because of what it was and, it seemed like a weird thing to happen as the first time... but that is probably just me I am sure. 


Deciding factor: 5 Stars - After all is said and done, this was a wonderful book! Even with the cons, they do not outweigh the amazing story and overall happy feeling I am left with. The narration was fantastic and ooh I hope there is a book for Owen and the woman in #410!! 


I highly recommend this book and the previous one. If you haven't read the first book I would read that one first and then this one because they are both awesome and you get to meet Holden in the first book!!

Loved it

After reading The Rules of Dating, I was excited when I heard that Holden Catalano was getting his own book; he intrigued me and I just knew that his story was going to be epic and it was.

He and Laney (Lala) Ellison have known each other for many years. In fact her deceased brother Ryan was Holden’s best friend. A man who requested he look after and protect Lala after his death and a promise Holden has tried to keep.

When Lala needs a place to stay in New York, Holden offers her an apartment in the building that he co-owns with his friends. However, that’s when the complications arise, it appears the feelings he has had for Lala have not gone away despite the years that have passed, add in that she is engaged and he knows that nothing can happen.

The heart wants who the heart wants and as their friendship develops and moves to another level, lines are crossed. The chemistry between them is overwhelming and you could feel the emotions as they both struggled to do what was right.

Their journey was emotional and heart warming and the secondary characters added another level to the story. The Rules of Dating My Best Friend’s Sister is a beautifully written, romantic love story that ticked all the boxes for me. This dynamic writing duo have yet another winner on their hands.

Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. There voices are easy to listen too and ai found myself entertained by their performances.

Worth the wait.

I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished reading the first book. The chemistry between Holden and Lala was off the charts, at time I had to make sure my IPad wasn’t smoking, lol. Their banters were playful, sexy and heartfelt. Together, Vi and Penelope wrote a book that’s fun, flirty, spicy and as always memorable story and characters.

Don’t miss out on this one!

I love this book!
I was so excited when this book got released that I went back and re-listened to the first book just so I would remember all of the characters and their interactions, then I jumped right into this one. The story is wonderfully told and the characters are so much fun. I can’t wait for another book in this series.
