Really enjoyed this listen. It was much better than the Titanic movie if you ask me.

Great story

I really enjoyed this historical novel written around the sinking of the Titanic. It is very similar to the series “The Bonfire of Destiny” about the historical event of a disastrous fire during a charity bazaar in Paris. In that story, 2 women assumed new identities when it was thought they were among the many who died in the fire. This story differed in the changed circumstances of the protagonist thought to have died. I listened to the book in one sitting as it was so compelling.

Caste Study

I really enjoyed this one. The story was compelling and interesting, providing insight into the British class structure. Additionally, the author took the time to develop the characters, making them multi-dimensional with flaws and positive attributes. Pacing was perfect, the story never dragged down. It was also well written.

Great historical fiction!!!

I loved everything about this book. The history and the way different classes of people lived during this time, the strong characters, and of course the fact that good triumphs over evil.

Character growth, triggers, qnd story

As a woman who went through postpartum depression and worried about the wellbeing of my son, the beginning of the book was triggering. But the book as a whole was beautiful and I loved it. The main female character grows into strong independent woman who fights for her son.

Recovery

What a story. A woman who makes it after the sinking of the Titanic. How she survived and made a life for herself and her young child. A riches to rags story that is totally believable.
The narrator was perfect for this book.

Amateurish writing and implausible story

I made it halfway through The Lost Passenger by Frances Quinn on audiobook but found the story too far-fetched and the writing overly simplistic, bordering on amateurish. Despite the glowing Goodreads reviews that drew me in, I was thoroughly disappointed and couldn’t continue, as I kept rolling my eyes. I typically enjoy historical fiction, but the implausible premise of this novel made it impossible to stay engaged, even with the understanding that it was a work of fiction.
