Publisher's summary

What if your past vanished? Who would you become?

Hannah, a forty-six-year-old author plagued with anxiety, and her partner James, an HR recruiter caught in a headlock of grief over his brother’s death, are as desperate for inner peace as they are clueless about how to find it.

But when they embark on a sunny bike ride shortly after moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, a split-second decision propels them into different versions of their lives—ones they don’t recognize as their own. With a mental fog obscuring their recent past and who they were, they are forced to dig inside themselves to figure out who they are now. Surprising discoveries about the nature of the universe send them on a psychological journey towards who they can be.

Will they be able to let go of their deeply ingrained subconscious beliefs about life and themselves to embrace the unfamiliar potentials they now face?

Reminiscent of the film Sliding Doors and novels The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and The Two Lives of Lydia Byrd by Josie Silver and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

A theatrical performance in a book!

While I enjoy reading a book I can touch and feel, the audible version of this book and the performance of Becky Parker Geist made me feel like I was in a theater watching this on stage! Such a great story of coincidences when there are none, finding mentors when you need them, and finding love when you thought you lost it. Loved it!

Just fabulous! A truly relatable experience

Becky captures the essence of spiritual discovery in a way that resonates and doesn’t belittle. Then, she wraps that in a courageous and delightful story of love and multi dimensional possibilities.

Becky Parker Geist tells a self-discovery tale

Becky Parker Geist tells a wonderful self-discovery story in The Left Turn: Two Lives, Worlds Apart

Hannah and James, both plagued with demons of the past, anxiety, and the search for peace. I haven't listened to anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. I did read the print version of the story, and enjoyed it, but I also really enjoyed this audiobook, especially with two narrators, and one being the author, herself. This book is definitely well told, and the characters are very engaging, and very realistic. Imagine if everything you knew and remembered was all of a sudden gone, and you're living a new life. I can't imagine having to rebuild a life into someone you've never been, as our pasts help define us. It's a normal day for the duo, but then everything changes, their entire world. I can't imagine, and with this story, the trials and triumphs, and the search for themselves, while dealing with the blur of their past, makes this story so unique, and very intense. This is one of those books that grabs you from the start and pulls you in. Geist has a great imagination. An emotional rollercoaster. Un-put-downable! It's a great story to follow and try to figure out what will happen next, even when I already read it, I listened to it with a new perspective. The Left Turn: Two Lives, Worlds Apart is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review.
