Publisher's summary

I've been faithful long enough.

I never claimed to be a good man, but I've always done what was expected of me.

Find a nice girl. Get married. Have children.

That was my duty as a good Christian man.

And everything was going as planned when I met Briar.

Beautiful. Charismatic. Sexy.

But marriage is hard, and after seven years, I feel like I'm failing.

Then, a figure from my past enters the picture.

Dean Sheridan is cocky and charming. When this twenty-six-year-old needs a place to stay, I should turn him away especially after I notice the spark between him and my wife. But I don't.

When I pressure him about his relationship with Briar, he does the last thing I expect.

He dares me.

He thinks he can take what's mine.

And if its a challenge he wants, its a challenge hell get.

What started as a game becomes so much more.

Between them. Between us.

This isn't how normal couples behave.

The games were playing are dangerous.

And the roles were playing are far more.

But God help me, I cant seem to stop.

What were doing is wrong, but it feels so right, and before long, I don't recognize the good husband I used to be.

Gripping

Grippingly complicated, emotionally transformative, and deeply moving- GAH, no one explores the interconnection between carnal desire and existential growth quite like Sara Cate. The nexus of psychological curiosity, emotional need, and physical lust are all so deftly and powerfully woven in this deeply emotive and deliciously sexy story of exploring the forbidden, of deconstructing in order to rebuild, to refind ones self. It's an alluring story that is also profoundly beautiful. One of desire, hurt and healing, discomfort and growth, distance and communication. But most of all about the power of of love and identity, about the freedom that can be found in both.

Sara Cate is a master of telling stories of unconventional love. Of characters finding themselves when they give in to explore something different, something scary...something others would consider wrong or too illicit. And The Home Wrecker is certainly NOT your traditional love story. There is cheating- open, on page, betrayal of marital vows. Cheating that leads to a marriage in crisis finding it's way forward in ways no one expects. But what a mighty and marvelous journey that is.

The performances are all epically done. I love Aiden Snow in particular and the energy he brings to his performance.

Fantastic

I had the pleasure to do a reread, I just knew I needed both audio and ebook, together at the same time.
This story is everything you never knew you needed, and the narrators did bring this to a whole new level for me.

Holy hotness!

What's not to love about this book? I never put much thought into polyamourous marriages honestly, but their love is what made the whole story memorable. With their marriage on the rocks, the last thing Caleb and Briar need is a new tenant in their garage apartment. But being the good Christians they are, they invite Dean to live there anyway. And that was the best decision they've ever made. Turns out they just needed a little Dean in their life 😏

She never misses!

The thing I love most about Sara’s writing is that while these books are smutty deliciousness, there’s so much depth and detail fueling the plot. Nothing is ever simple or one dimensional. Much like real life, it’s messy and hard and unexpected.

This book follows a married couple who lack communication and no longer feel as though their marriage will last. But then they meet Dean. What starts out as cheating (this isn’t a spoiler, read the title 😂) turns into so much more. And it’s definitely not so simple.

If you had been like me, feeling sort of meh about The Anti Hero, I encourage you to continue! Trigger warnings are listed at the beginning of the book, as we know there are typically some heavier topics in Cate’s books.

I’m excited for The Heartbreaker! 🩵

I could not put the headphones DOWN!

What happens when you take a husband and wife who went from hot and heavy, to forcing intimacy as a chore, a male escort with a complicated past with the husband, and a family trying to recover from their fathers misdoings? Why you get Sara Cates newest book, The Home Wrecker. This is the second book in the Goode Brothers series. You do not NEED to have read The Anti Hero to enjoy this, but I will say you will be missing a lot of back character and plot information. Caleb and Briar Goode have the seemingly perfect life, college sweethearts, and a beautiful daughter. But behind closed doors, they have lost their spark and communication, especially in the bedroom. They want another child and their intimate times have become more of a chore then because they actually want eachtoher. Enter Dean. Dean works at the club that Sage and Adam (The Anti-Hero) run, when a fire puts him out of a house, Adam suggest he stay at his brothers pool house, unknowing that Caleb and Dean have a history, but not one you would think. Dean dated the other Goode brother, Isaac, and after they were discovered by Caleb (all seen through flashbacks), he takes it upon himself to kick Dean out and away from his brother. With tensions high between the two, they set a bet, Dean bets he can get Briar to cheat on Caleb. Caleb being confident in his marriage takes him on. While they are fighting over Briar, they get closer and closer to each other, until its all three of them. Initially, Dean helps Briar and Caleb get their passion back, but they soon realize, they both have a side to eachtoher they have never shared. And both their hidden sides, include Dean.

This book was so so so well done with the story telling. I love stories with flashbacks and we get to see what happens, how it all started and where it ends up. The contrast between what we see when we first meet Caleb and Briar to how they were when we see them in flash backs really squeezes your heart. How Sara can write these stories where they come so close to ripping out your heart till its holding on to your body by the last tiny bit of tissue before she fixes it all is just absolutely mind blowing. And then seeing Caleb being a protective big brother over Isaac when he found him and Dean, setting up their dislike for each other. There were to many layers of this story, which often times can get messy, but this was so well organized it all flowed perfectly. **SPOILER ALERT, SO NOT READ AFTER THIS SENTENCE** I was happy to see that they changed their mind on trying for another kid, I feel even if they had continued to try, and they did become pregnant, it almost would have been too “perfect” and took it into cheesy territory.

Okay NO MORE SPOILERS NOW.

This book was narrated by Aiden Snow as Caleb, Ava Erickson as Briar and Tim Paige as Dean. This story was also read in Duet (each narrator reads their own character(s) despite whose chapter it is), and these three were so great together. This is a first for Ava Erickson in the Cate world and she really played the quite but hidden passion Briar. They way she played her as the fun loving college kid and then switched to the depressed house wife, so well done. This is not the first, or the first MMF for either Aiden or Tim and I hope we continue to see them in the Cate world. The contrast between Aiden's growly gruff and grumpy voice, mixed with Tim's fun carefree charismatic sound was already great, but then add in Ava and it was narrator perfection.

All the stars for The Home-Wrecker.

Couldn’t stop listening ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I lived this book so much. If I could have listened to it in one sitting I would have. Unfortunately 4am came and I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I fought it, I really did. At first I was uncomfortable with the cheating, BUT it does work for the story. You will understand when you listen to it. You have to listen to it! This was so hot, it made my heart race. 🥵 😍❤️‍🔥
