About this listen

The Faker Rulebook: A perfect guide to a successful fake relationship with your straight best friend.

Noah: Rook Oliveira stumbled into my life when I was eleven years old. Being the scrawny new kid at school with a mouth full of braces, I never expected to become unlikely best friends with the most popular boy in seventh grade.

At eighteen, I gathered the courage to tell him I was gay and admitted I'd never kissed a guy. He offered to be my first. Straight or not, that kiss had burned with nearly tangible fire and tattooed the moment on my heart. I've spent the last four years trying to forget it.

Now we're seniors in college, and I've learned why secret relationships are a bad idea.

My brother is getting married, and my cheating ex is the best man. Honestly, Rook is more upset about it than I am. He comes up with this crazy plan to be my fake boyfriend for the week of the wedding.

If we're doing this, then we need to set some rules. Between fake kisses and sharing a bed, things could get messy. Because I'm in love with my best friend—and he has no idea. The rules are simple. I never expected Rook to be the one that started breaking them.

Contains mature themes.

💙🔥

There's only 1 complaint. It was not long enough. Story was short, sweet and sexy. Iggy you were amazing as always.

Short but so worth it! So glad I found this one.

Decided to give this one a try because I needed a new Iggy Toma narrated story to listen to. Found this on a whim on its release day. Such a cute story! Not heavy on the drama or angst. Loved it!

If you are looking for a short listen about friends to forever without needing a box of tissue (but still getting a fun journey to their HEA), give this one a try.

Adorable

I love Iggy! He doesn’t have your standard voice and I love it. I thought this was a short sweet story. Some parts were slightly irritating or slight cringe worthy, no big deal but I’m glad that I found this 1.

Short and Sweet

This was a perfect palate cleanser type of book. A little shorter and an easy listen to sandwich in between something longer with more drama and angst.

Noah and Rook met at age 12 and eventually became inseparable best friends. Of course that means Noah fell hard for his straight friend. As they grew older, Noah kept his feelings hidden and Rook never knew, yet always felt possessive of Noah.

A fake boyfriend situation presents itself. Rules are made (hence the title). Rook discovers he may not be as straight as he thinks.

All in all it’s a nice story minus a few plot holes and glaring issues (ie no college basketball player would be able to take that much time away during the season, which happens in winter). I’m just a stickler for those little things.

Slow, but cute.

I love the authors other books so I was excited about this one, but it just didn’t hit the mark. It was cute, but slow and uneventful.

Cute Story!

Very cute story. I really love a best friends to try love trope and I also love a fake boyfriend to real boyfriend trope, and this story combined the two very well. I loved all the history we got between Noah and Rook. A lot of the times when these character have a friendship that goes back to when they were kids it’s often times heavily hinted to or flashes back a few lines here or there but this one gave us quite a bit of story from the past which I enjoyed. My only complaint is it’s too short, and I thought there could have been more of the the fake boyfriend rouse playing out. Still it was an entertaining story and Iggy Toma did a great job narrating. He is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Great story

I loved both of these characters. And the narrator is absolutely one of my favorites.

Good story.

I love listening to Iggy narrator but I think it would have been a bit better with someone else with him. Duet.
