About this listen

I catfished my best friend's Dad in prison. But he'll never know, right?

Scott

For almost a decade, I've been the secret pen pal of a convict—my best friend's father.

All I wanted was to help bridge the gap between father and son. But the innocent act soon turns into more.

Through our letters, I am able to be the brave, confident guy I am in fact, not.

So what if I fibbed a little when I sent him a false photograph of me? And reinvented myself in those letters?

After all, what's the harm when Griff will never be released from prison?

Griff

I spent two decades behind bars, but nothing could have prepared me for Scott.

When I get out on parole, I find the little liar is nothing like he portrayed. But I'm not mad. I prefer the hot, stuttering, mess that he is.

Beneath the glasses, braces, and fun-size package, he is far from tame when it counts.

I just have one problem. My relationship with Scottie might thwart my reconciliation with my son.

How can I choose between them? One's my flesh and blood. The other is my heart and soul.

The Nerd & the Ex-Con is a standalone M/M romance novel by Gianni Holmes writing as Sage Abbott. Same spice. Less triggers.

Story 10, iggy 10 but Shannon Gun

This story was super hot. I super enjoyed it. I ate the story. It was great. It is difficult to find these types of books with alpha men and their partners. The only bad thing was Shannon Gun. When he was Griff, he did an amazing job, but when he played Scotty, Scotty ended up sounding like a woman.

Good story

Well written, the inmate and the nerd. best friends father romance. Great storyline with a lot of back detail and depth. flows along easily and is definitely entertaining. the narration is wonderful. Iggy Toma and Shannon Gunn did a good job bringing this story and all of the characters to life. they make a good team. this is a good start for this new series.

Smoking Hot with A Whole Lot of Sweet!

Going to start right out with how top notch the narrator choice was here. Iggy Toma was all things Scottie and Shannon Gunn had growly Griff down to an art. Every time I had to stop listening, I was figuring out when I could listen again! Scottie had good intentions writing his best friend's father to keep him updated about his son Jay. I was fully invested in finding out when Jay would give his father Griff a second chance as much as I was invested in the hot age gap romance between Scottie and Griff. very original with genuinely flawed reactions and decisions from the guys. Again, I have to mention this Narration was perfection!

Excellent narration

A good story made that much better by the excellent narration! Scottie & Griff’s story is a feel good-dash of angst- hurray for the “good guys”- tale, with plenty of spice

Sweet Story

I'm never really sure what to expect from these stories where someone falls for their friends Dad. However, this one was sweet, well written, and of course great Narration by Iggy Toma.

A Second Chance

I thought this was a beautiful story. Everybody deserves a second chance. The relationship growth between Scotty and Griff was so enjoyable. I’m a huge Iggy Toma fan and thought he did a fantastic narration of Scotty. Both narrators were great.

I would love to see a book 2 and continue the series.

Awesome

This is the first book from this author that I’ve listened to. It’s a little racy, but it was awesome. Definitely would recommend.

Excellent Narration, very Cliched storyline

While the narration was excellent, the plot was really cliched. the sex scenes were a bit repetitive. If the central character, Scotty had been a decent friend to either of the others and respected his alleged best-friend's wishes, there would be no story to tell. Instead, he chooses to interfere and causes even more pain and trauma to everyone. You Don't heal someone else's trauma by taking away their choices and their agency. I returned this title.
