About this listen

From CNN’s veteran Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, an explosive, first-hand account of the dangers he faces reporting on the current White House while fighting on the front lines in President Trump’s war on truth.

In Mr. Trump’s campaign against what he calls “Fake News”, CNN Chief White House Correspondent, Jim Acosta, is public enemy number one. From the moment Mr. Trump announced his candidacy in 2015, he has attacked the media, calling journalists “the enemy of the people”.

Acosta presents a damning examination of bureaucratic dysfunction, deception, and the unprecedented threat the rhetoric Mr. Trump is directing has on our democracy. When the leader of the free world incites hate and violence, Acosta doesn’t back down, and he urges his fellow citizens to do the same.

At Mr. Trump’s most hated network, CNN, Acosta offers a never-before-reported account of what it’s like to be the President’s most hated correspondent. Acosta goes head-to-head with the White House, even after Trump supporters have threatened his life with words as well as physical violence.

From the hazy denials and accusations meant to discredit the Mueller investigation, to the president’s scurrilous tweets, Jim Acosta is in the eye of the storm while reporting live to millions of people across the world. After spending hundreds of hours with the revolving door of White House personnel, Acosta paints portraits of the personalities of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Hope Hicks, Jared Kushner, and more. Acosta is tenacious and unyielding in his public battle to preserve the First Amendment and #RealNews.

I can't believe it's only been two years!

With the pace of today's modern news-cycle it's easy to forget all of the insanity that we have had to endure in just the first two years of this so-called presidency. I loved/hated being reminded that THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL!

Must read

Jim Acosta’s book sets the record straight on so many important crazy things that have happened in the White House, including sending out doctored videos. He gives hope that there are people who care about the country, which it seems those in the White House do not. Journalists simply report what is happening.

Give them hell Jim!

First off, I am biased because the author is my correspondent crush. That aside, this is such an interesting book. I remember all of the events as stated in this book, so it's fascinating and also disheartening at times, the behind the scenes action behind those stories. I have always found Jim Acosta to be a well spoken, unbiased correspondent who calls it as he sees it. Just because you don't agree with the story, doesn't make it "fake news". I have also noticed the free-for-all that started in 2015, people think it's okay to let their jerk flag fly high. It's not. I have a slogan, " make Americans decent again". So many people are crude and rude and don't care. The attack on the media is disgusting. It reminds me of a certain someone's attacks on the media behind WWII. Anyone who cannot see comparisons are blind. The rhetoric, and at times the language verbatim in relation to today is both shocking and sad. This book was well thought out and the performance was perfectly executed by the author himself., and I'm glad I read it. Keep up the good fight.

Gripping, shocking and ultimately very sad

Brilliantly narrated by Acosta, this is an important document to show the state of freedom of speech in America during Trump’s presidency.

Excellent fact based journalism

Excellent fact based journalism in the new distorted world of alternate reality, lies and Trump.

Great book

A really really enjoyable read. Make me know that I’m not crazy with the horrific events put forth by Trump interspersed with humor. Very enjoyable!

Jim Acosta Explains What He's Been Through

I like Jim Acosta and feel Trump and Sanders did not. Though some of his justifications seem like self pitying, he makes good points. This book is about him vs. the White House... and I'm glad he came out on top.

A Brave Reporter

I first listened to this book while Trump was still President and I felt afraid about the further damage that Trump could do if elected to a second term of Office. Now I have just listened for the second time - and it was much easier because of the very honorable man now in the White House.
