About this listen

Rescuing the man tied to a tree seemed like a rational decision. Claire is a smart, capable bookkeeper who happens to work at a martial arts academy. She has no idea the door she walked through to save the bound man would leave her trapped in 13th-century Scotland. She is unable to regret the night of passion shared with Ian, even though it happened with the threat of death just outside the door. She pretends to be content with Ian's friendship, knowing his people must come first. Compelled by honor and tormented by desire, is being his woman, while he marries another, enough? Ian, Laird of the Draig Clan, is a man trapped by fate. Forced by necessity to marry a woman he has never met, her dowry is essential to save his clan. However, he is in love with the woman who saved his life and then spent one night in his arms. Duty prevents Ian from being able to marry Claire as custom, honor, and his heart demand. Drawn to her, believing they share the same desires and dreams in life, he finally offers her the only option available, a place by his side and in his bed.

Claire and Ian are bound together in love and then ripped apart by deception and a plot to destroy the Draig clan. Facing the final battle alone and unarmed, Claire saves them all. The ultimate challenge is forgiving Ian for sending her away.

Love this book!

This is one of my favourite time travel romances. This is the 3rd time listen for me. Great story and narration. My only complaint is that Ms Wadler's other 3 books from this series are not available on Audible.

A fantastic edition to the time travel genre!

Where does The Draig's Woman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's one of my favorites!

What did you like best about this story?

The Draig's Woman had me in the first chapter. This romance sub-genre is one of my favorites, and this audiobook is a very fine edition to the canon of Scottish time travel romances. Author Lisa Dawn Wadler has a great command of the time period, and I thoroughly enjoyed the historical aspects of the story immensely.

Main character Claire's strength of will and sense of self-worth carries the story along, and Ian is a hero to fight and root for. His sense of honor and sacrifice is incredibly appealing, I loved the unexpected twists and turns of their love story. I found the plot refreshing and it kept my attention throughout. It was a great listen on a very long car ride I took

If you love this genre as much as I do, you'll love the Draig's Woman. I highly recommend it.

What about Lisa Zimmerman’s performance did you like?

Lisa has a gorgeous voice. She drew me into the story and the character's lives with effortless ease.

Great story with characters you will love.

So wonderful to find a book with an interesting storyline, likable characters, a sense of humor, that takes off from the very beginning. And the love story – yes, you will get your fill of a beautiful love story.
I read this book when it originally came out. Having it on audible added another dimension. Listening to it was a great way and a great excuse to enjoy it a second time.

Unexpected delight!

What a surprise it was to find this gem hidden away in the sci-fi books. It belongs in historical romance!!! The brief origins for the time travel premise is well thought out and written. The fact that this 13th century romance almost eluded me is a tad disturbing. I enjoyed every moment. The writing is good the narration good, it's all VERY good!

Great book

The story was fantastic, my only regret is that it could have been a little short.

Meh

I was hoping for something different with the martial arts and time travel description. Nope. Just a romance and if that's what you are looking for I think there are better ones out there. Narrator was trying for a Scottish accent that sounded more Russian. Still not the worst narrator I have heard. Finished it but wish I had passed this one by.
