Acerca de esta escucha

WARNING: May contain Egyptian gods, werewolves, power armor, and a world-ending apocalypse

A pyramid predating all known cultures appears without warning. Its discovery throws into question everything we know about the origins of mankind.

Inside lies incredible technology, proof of a culture far more advanced than our own. Something dark lurks within, eager to resume a war as old as mankind. When it is unleashed it heralds the end of our species’ reign.

A plague of werewolves spreads across the world. A sunspot larger than anything in recorded history begins to grow. Yet both pale in comparison to the true threat, the evil the werewolves were created to fight.

"It's like Indiana Jones went through the Stargate and ended up in Aliens versus Predator." (One of the author's totally biased friends)

This collection gathers No Such Thing as Werewolves, No Mere Zombie, Vampires Don't Sparkle, and The Great Pack.

Took me quite awhile to finally finish it but glad I did. Really enjoyed how the author brings folklore and gods to life.

worth the credit

This, and the other series I listened by him so far The Magitech Chronicles, are unique and fun with characters you cheer for and villains you love to hate. Nice pacing and definitely worth the listen.

Fun Listen

Awesome book all around. The narrator seems to not know English by some of the simple words he can’t pronounce correctly. But he does an all around good job. The story is awesome. Who doesn’t love wear wolves and zombies tearing each other apart with gods of all pantheons and all sorts of tech.

Great guts. And a great story.

So between this and Magitech Chronicles, I've come to 2 conclusions. First that Chris Fox was likely inspired by RPGs like Shadow Run and World of Darkness and second, that he really likes seeing gods battle it out with each other. It took a little while for me to decide that I liked these books, but I'm glad that I read them all the way through because they proved quite enjoyable.

There are only 2 reasons for not giving it a perfect score. First is the lack of human characters and contributions; every normal human who might’ve had an interesting role to play was gradually phased out by either killing them or turning them into werewolves, undead, demons, or superhumans. I would've loved to see a handful of humans learning to adapt to their new world alongside their Blooded counterparts, up to and including training with them so as to prepare themselves and fighting alongside them in the final battle. The only time that happened was at the end of book 3; before that, it was just humans fighting monsters and getting slaughtered.

The other problem is the cliffhanger this ended on. When do we get to see the Ark War finally begin?!

Great, now where's #5?

Overall I liked this series and will get book 5 when it releases on audible. There are a couple of things the author gets wrong though: A solar storm is not like a '60s lost in space' cosmic storm with thunder, lightning, tremendous winds, etc. Also a polar shift (aka a magnetic field reversal) would NOT cause continental shift with earthquake, volcanic eruption and a slippage of Earth's crust. So I have to ding the author for those blunders but still overall I enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book.

Very Good, with a couple of errors

This audiobook was so long it was like living with another person. With that being said it was very enjoyable and last a few months worth of occasional walks. each of the four books got better and I can see Chris Fox improving as a writer as the story went along

like a second spouse

The way the story plays out is practical (as in, realistic plot even though its a fantasy). It does the best job I've seen of a book incorporating myth into the real world and even paints a plausible and believable reason for why everything is the way it is.
The narrator is great, that being said, I have listened to better narrators, but Ryan Kurke still does a great job and doesn't disappoint.
I love that the first book isn't in-your-face about the nudity and romance. It actually puts all the weight into the story and doesn't rely on the gimmick of sex appeal.
All in all, the world generation is amazing and gripping. I found myself eagerly wanting to understand more about the world, it's different factions, and how they interact.

Pleasantly Surprised

I absolutely love creature books and this one holds all of my favorite ones...even a few new ones! Face paced and a fantastic listen. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to read or listen to the next book in the series!
Come on Ark War!!!

I loved everything about this!! I was completely drawn to it throughout every book. There were absolutely no dull moments.. If you like zombies, werewolves, vampires, demons, egyptian gods, magic, and so much more... look no further. The Deathless Quadrilogy combines it all into an amazing story that never feels too drawn out or boring. You're left dying to know what happens next, never quite able to draw enough will power to pause it for later. 10/10 recommended.

This was amazing!
