who picks the voices for the characters?

this is a great series, however a few of the voices for the characters are a bit over the top. a 400 lb criminal that sounds like Bela lugosi

The voice of the speaker was wonderful. I felt like I was right there, and he was the real person to tell the story.

Characters

Approach of the storyteller and the voices were good for me too and I liked the humor.

Great voices, story moved along so well no down gaps.

Very entertaining no outlandish shootouts. Enjoyable characters with a touch of personal tension. All four stories were well written.

I listened to the whole series

so this rating is for the series as a whole. I love this genre. But had come to the conclusion that I'd listened to everything good plus a lot that was bad, and anything else I listened to would just be
repeats of the stories I'd already heard. New names, new characters, same old stories. So I was surprised and happy to find this series. I feel like Mr Banner tried harder to put together interesting protagonists and unusual stories instead of just re-writing the stories that r out there. He also does a good job with the romantic relationship. Some writers just kill off the woman in a series to avoid having to do the relationship thing, but he does it well. The narrator is good too.

EXCELLENT Series

I'm on book 3 now. Books 1 and 2 were excellent, and 3 is turning out to be the same. Believable storylines, fast pace, interesting characters and great narrator. Unlike some of the reviews, I was too caught up in the story to look for inconsistencies in details - no glaring issues for me. The box set of 4 books is a great bargain. If you like books read by Tom Taylorson, I think you'll like Adam Grupper. Very similar voice. Does a good job with the various characters and accents.

Awesome Listen

This was my first time listening to a Blake Banner book but I loved it so much that I have already purchased the next book in the series. To be honest when I started listening I thought that it was going to be a return the only reason that I kept listening was because it was a box set for 1 credit. I am so glad that I kept listening, by the 3rd chapter I was hooked.

Story Lines. Narrator was fantastic!!

First in the series. Can’t wait to listen to all the rest!! There were no slow beats. This is the series I’ve been looking for ever since
the Bosch series ran it’s course. This series is like Bosch .02.

Really liked the characters and twisted plots , great narration and good story line, like detective Dehan most
