About this listen

Ever wish you could be a little more extraordinary? A little happier? A little more in control of your life? Well, this is your blueprint for making it happen.

It might sound crazy, but it all starts with quitting your 9-5. Jesse should know. He quit his job to join TechStars, a startup accelerator that helped him and his business partner build a multimillion-dollar company from the ground up. Then he wrote this book while lounging at the beach.

Sound impossible? It's not. This isn't just Jesse's story. It's the story of every successful person you've ever known - and all of them have followed the same formula. After nearly a decade of interviews and research, Jesse has compiled the ultimate playbook for defying the status quo, weaving together the most critical yet overlooked tips from industry heavy hitters like Ben Horowitz, Tim Ferriss, and Steve Jobs.

Recycled Guru Motivational-style advice

Would you try another book from Jesse Tevelow and/or Michael Pauley?

No I don't think I would.

What could Jesse Tevelow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He could not have used Neo from the Matrix as his spirit animal. I wish this book had been as inspirational to me as the Matrix Trilogy clearly was to him.

What aspect of Michael Pauley’s performance would you have changed?

I just think he could have taken the Mark Wahlberg tone down a couple of notches.

Was The Connection Algorithm: Take Risks, Defy the Status Quo, and Live Your Passions worth the listening time?

It was in the sense that I really wanted to listen to it after reading reviews so now I know.

Any additional comments?

Not all Authorpreneur books are created equally, but this one certainly doesn't stand out in a sea of this style of book in anyway other than being read by a male cast member from the Jersey Shore or maybe an arrogant Jean Shepherd.

Couldn't Stop Listening

This was the best book that I have read in a while. It is short, but it is packed with need to know information, especially for those who aspire to be an entrepreneur or want to move on from their current job, but don't have the confidence to do so.

Great tool

I would recommend this book as a tool to any entrepreneur or wanna be entrepreneur out there. Coupled with the 4hour work week, there is so many ACTIONS you can take on your journey.

If you believe success is a road and not a destination, you'll be both challenged and encouraged by the writings in this book. Read Grant Cordone's 10X after you've read this and the 4Hour Workweek. This is a must read.

Worthwhile

Great content. Concise. Great sources, examples, and very relatable. The narrator brings a dimension with effective emphasis, expressive emotion, and concise speaking.

Common Sense Algorithm

While there are some interesting examples in the story, the steps involved are really straight-forward and can be followed relatively easily. The narration is solid, but there are some production issues that should be cleaned-up.
