Things are coming to a head for Ahren and his companions. It is true that they have won the Paladins Fisker and Aluna over to their cause in the campaign against the Adversary, but the Pall Pillar is going through an ominous change.

About to become the “erstwhile” series to which I was listening.
I have been really enjoying the series. But god damn, the author or translator need to find a different synonym for “former.” Just say “old” or “former.” Each of the 700 times I hear the word “erstwhile” it’s like being stabbed with a windblade in my brain. Very distracting.

Amazing as always!
Great development of characters, Ahren specifically is notable (as is his wolf, as you'd expect). Gildart is exceptional as usual. Looking forward to the next book!

Love this author and story 10/10
I could rant about the things I love about this series but I don’t have the patience to type it out. This series is amazing and i really enjoy the characters, story, and attention to detail within the world building. Varying cultures, economic situations, and well thought out magic usage. Would highly recommend 10/10 can’t wait for the next one.
