About this listen
The knowledge every man needs for a successful divorce
Each year, 500,000 men will face divorce, and most of them make at least one crucial - and often irreversible - mistake. These errors might seem minor, such as moving out while things get sorted out or thinking of "temporary" orders as being truly temporary. But when they get to court, these men discover they have put themselves in a terrible position. They may have to give up their house, pay impossibly high alimony, or even lose custody.
You could be one of these men. But you don't have to be.
Joseph Cordell, the founder of the nation's largest law firm focusing on men's divorce and the creator of DadsDivorce.com, has seen the consequences of the mistakes men make. Drawing upon the huge number of cases that Cordell & Cordell has handled, this book identifies the 10 most common mistakes that end up hurting men in divorce. Cordell demystifies the divorce process, explains what judges consider in making their final decisions, and lays out a road map for positive actions men can take to achieve the best possible outcome.
No man should face divorce without this book.

Story
Divorce is the intersection of everything we hold dear in life: love, sex, money, and children. When those are threatened, people get angry. Logical and reasoned decision-making spirals into power plays and finger-pointing and potentially open warfare. Without a clear head, divorce is a lose-lose for everyone except the lawyers. It doesn't have to be that way. Family law attorney Raiford Palmer has helped clients find a faster, more peaceful, less costly alternative to "World War III" divorce cases.

If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late. James Sexton knows this. After dealing with over 1000 clients whose marriages have dissolved over everything from an ill-advised threesome with the nanny to the uneven division of carpool duties, he also knows all of the what- not-to-dos for couples who want to build - and consistently work to preserve - a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Described by former clients as a "courtroom gunslinger" and "the sociopath you want on your side", Sexton tells the unvarnished truth about relationships. These usually derive from dishonest communication.

It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Love and Respect is for anyone.

Story
As an exotic dancer at The Great Alaskan Bush Company in Anchorage, Mechele Hughes Linehan knew how to captivate men. Three of them were convinced she was engaged to them. Then one spring morning in 1996, one man, Kent Leppink, was found in the snow, shot in the head....Days before his death, Kent had removed Mechele's name from his million-dollar life insurance policy. He wrote a letter to his family stating that, should he meet foul play, Mechele would likely be among those involved. But she wasn't charged with Kent's death. She married a doctor, moved to Olympia, Washington, and began a new life.

A must read for any man before getting a divorce!
Even though it was written quite a while ago, most of the material is still relevant to today's divorce process.
Very down to earth. Very practical and immediately useful. Even the occasional sarcasm is funny and often hilarious.

Irretrievably broken, irreconcilable differences
The deep sadness of a divorce "Irretrievably broken, irreconcilable differences" is beyond heart shattering. While commitments and vows before God to unconditionally love, honor and care for a husband / wife are so easily disposable and trashed like meaningless garbage, I read this book to help my husband and to work together in the physical end of our domestic partnership - but with no contact orders and protective orders against him in place, the legal act of divorce has become completely dehabilitating and under the destruction of the adversarial legal system that has begun. For those that make it out alive - this book is helpful for wives looking to help their husbands, and for those women looking to understand the male perspective of such things.

Best divorce book for any woman trying to get an advantage
I binge listen to divorce books and this is probably the best one I have listened to yet. It’s simple, full of examples, and really easy to pay attention to. I’m telling you, listen to this book before you even do anything else!!!! Men and women alike! I’m going through a divorce and felt like this gave me a lot of great tools and now I know how the other side will be coaching my husband.

Very Eye Opening!
This book was great for me. It showed me I could actually relax a bit and take more time in a divorce enabling me to say and do the right things. It also was great at pointing out “What Not To Do!” I will probably read it several more times.
