About this listen

Taming 7 is an epic and unforgettable love story in the international bestselling and TikTok-phenomenon The Boys of Tommen series, from Chloe Walsh.

She's the quintessential sunshine girl. He's the lovable class clown. But storm clouds are rolling in, and this Tommen boy is about to get serious.

Tommen's cheekiest lad, Gerard 'Gibsie' Gibson, has always been a comedian, but most people don't see what lurks beneath the surface. He is haunted by events of the past and he uses humor to cope, hiding his true self from the world.

Claire Biggs, the epitome of sunshine, has always loved Gibsie, her brother's friend and her favorite neighbor. She has always seen a side to him that no one else seems to notice. She becomes determined to tame her wild-at-heart childhood best friend.

When lines are crossed, it becomes unclear whether Gibsie and Claire's friendship will survive. Will it blossom into something more, or will they lose themselves in the wild?

Following characters that audiences have grown to adore, Taming 7 will only expand your love for the Boys of Tommen universe.

Wow! I don’t know why I waited so long to start Taming 7. I should have read it back when I read the others. It definitely didn’t disappoint. Clare and Gibbs were adorable. I think they could be my favorite couple with Johnny and Shannon. I loved how strong their friendship was since they were kids. The love they have for each other is unbreakable. Seeing what Gibbs went through broke my heart and I loved how protective Clare was. I also loved how all the other characters were incorporated into the book, especially Shannon and Clare’s relationship. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the Boys of Tommon Series.

Gibsie love him

I loved the story between Claire and Gibsie, although I did have trouble understanding the male narrator 😬.
Also I am curious to know what happened to Lizzy- I don’t judge her character- I feel the girl had roughly.

"Because I loved her. Every part of me. With every bone in my body. Defective and all as I was. I couldn’t help it. It was instinctive. It was ever consuming. It was forever."

*Taming 7* by Chloe Walsh is a compelling addition to the *Boys of Tommen* series, continuing the journey of the vibrant group of characters with a deep dive into the evolving relationship between Gerard Gibson and Claire Biggs. As the third couple to take center stage in this series, their story explores themes of friendship, vulnerability, personal growth, and the complexities of love.

One of the book’s standout features is the sincerity of the friendship between Claire and Gibsie. The relationship begins as a platonic connection, built on mutual respect, trust, and a genuine love for each other. As the story progresses, their bond naturally transitions into something more romantic and passionate. The author does a wonderful job of making this shift feel seamless and organic, highlighting the growth of both characters as they navigate their feelings for each other. Both Claire and Gibsie's are portrayed as "golden retriever" personalities—warm, open, and willing to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Their unabashed expression of affection, both for each other and in front of others, was refreshing, especially given the complexity of their emotional journeys.

Claire, in particular, stands out as a character who undergoes significant growth. At the start of the book, she is still navigating the challenges of adolescence, grappling with feelings of immaturity, confusion, and a desire to make sense of her changing world. Yet, her vulnerability and her willingness to make mistakes add layers of authenticity to her character. What I appreciated most was her unwavering defense of Gerard's toward the end of the book—her commitment to protecting him from further harm was powerful and showed her evolution into a strong, protective figure.

Gibsie, on the other hand, is one of the most heart-wrenching characters in the series. His backstory is filled with trauma, loss, and self-blame, which makes his journey toward healing all the more compelling. The revelation of the abuse he suffered as a child is gut-wrenching, and the emotional weight of his past is something he struggles to process throughout the book. While he’s able to mask his pain with a smile and a seemingly upbeat attitude, the author does a fantastic job of portraying the deep internal struggle he faces. I do wish that more time was spent exploring Jared’s healing process and the way he ultimately comes to terms with his past—this is a storyline that I’m hoping will be addressed in future books, as the emotional depth of Gibsie's character truly deserves further exploration.

While *Taming 7* is deeply emotional and engaging, it is also a transitional book in the series. There are still several unresolved questions, particularly regarding the fallout from the dramatic events at the Winter Ball. The conflict between Claire and Gerard is not neatly resolved, and the tension between them—and with other characters, like Lizzie—sets the stage for future books. The divide in their friendships, especially with Lizzie, is an intriguing plot point that will likely play a pivotal role in the next installments. Lizzie’s character, in particular, is one that may be hard to reconcile with. Although I understand her pain and the grief she’s experiencing, her treatment of Gibsie was cruel and unforgivable. This conflict between the characters adds a layer of complexity to the narrative and leaves readers wondering how it will all unfold.

Overall, *Taming 7* is a strong entry in the *Boys of Tommen* series. While it may not be my favorite in the series, it certainly serves as an important stepping stone in the larger story arc. With its heartfelt moments, compelling characters, and emotional depth, it earns a solid four out of five stars. I look forward to seeing how Chloe Walsh develops these characters further and wraps up their journeys in future books. Fans of the series will find plenty to love here, and new readers will undoubtedly be drawn into this emotional, character-driven world.

I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, as *Taming 7* sets the stage for what promises to be an even more intense and heartfelt continuation of the story.

As always, this is my opinion of this book, yours may differ and that's okay. Be kind.
