Absolutely love it

This book was so good! I’ve been seeing it all over Tiktok O i decided to give it a try and OMG…this is what i want when i think of enemies to lovers. Absolutely loved Caden and his craziness and how Billie just accepts and adds to it

Holy sh*t this was amazing

This book was literal perfection. If you like lights out, any rina Kent or dark stalker romances, this one’s for you. I’ve heard great things about book two and can’t wait to listen to it. The female narrator bugged me at first but I ended up liking her. The male narrator was amazing. I could listen to him alllll day. Caden King will forever be the top notch book BF.

Adorably messed up

Absolutely love these two. You don’t want to love Caden King but omg you have to. Unhinged boy turns adorable once he finally falls head over heels. Even if you expect them to end up together at the end, the odds are so against them you FEEL it in your bones. This was a bit deviant, yet somehow light hearted. Honestly realistic friendships/relationships throughout the story that didn’t feel forced. Really enjoyed this and adore this couple. Narration was spot. On.

An Unhinged mess

This story was absolutely unhinged and I was shocked but also impressed. I kept hearing about how dark this book was but I have experience with really dark books so I didn’t pay it much thought but this book was DARK and Caden king delivered. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Took a chance on this book without much consideration, and wow! No regrets! It seemed a bit on the angsty young adult side so I was unsure at first. I was pleasantly surprised with a well written highly entertaining gangland Romeo and Juliet style love story. I absolutely loved the spice! Let’s just say I like my romance DARK and in my fantasy world consent is more a mild suggestion…. Unfortunately it’s not a very common idea in most romances. Seems like authors tend to shy away from everything but the lightest suggestions of non con ( for obvious reasons). Even the books that have non con and dub con usually have some mitigating situations or factors or whatever to kind of lessen the concept/make it more socially acceptable. Well I just LOVED that the MC was absolutely unapologetic! He’s an actual BAD bad boy! How refreshingly delicious 😈! I will definitely be listening to this book again in the future! A proud new addition to my favorites list for sure! Also the dual narration was excellent and I appreciated the dual POV. Well worth a credit and a worth addition to any dark romance collection.

I’ve never been so disturbed while reading.

Caden is the most confusing character I’ve read so far: he says all the right things and does all the wrong ones.
He is a perfect sociopath. And yet the more he is with Billie, the more he becomes human.
He communicates with her through songs.
But he doesn’t understand the concept of consent. Like at all.
So many times I was struggling between hating him and loving him.
I think I was in the same state of mind as Billie.

That’s why the author did a brilliant job. This is impossible to be indifferent to the characters.

If you are triggered by sexual assault and rape, don’t. Just DON’T.
This is an important part of this story.
Your mental health worth a lot (more than a book).

♡ This is my first read by Lola King, and I loved every second of it!! The narration was phenomenal, and I'm super excited to listen to the next book.

Beautiful Fiend is an enemies to lovers dark romance where two rival g@ng members fall in love with one another even though they start out as toxic. In the first half of the book, I absolutely despised the MMC Caden, but in true dark romance fashion, by the end, I was a puddle for him.... I fell in love with the FMC Billie right from the start!! She's tough, speaks her mind, and doesn't take sh**t from anyone!! This book has a great storyline, and the spice didn't disappoint. If you love any of the tropes above, definitely give this book a read!!

Romeo & Juliet dark romance

This is my first Lola King book I’ve read and I have to admit that it was a wild ride. I think the dark romance Romeo and Juliet vibes worked well. The gang war violence and retaliation was believable for me and made a lot of sense for how Billie and Caden found their way to each other. Of note, there is a lot of girl on girl violence which I found surprising as it’s not normally addressed in these types of books IMO. Caden ultimately carried the story and romance for me. I personally think he did way more in their relationship than Billie ever did for him. Billie herself got a little whiny for me at times but by the end of the book she redeemed herself a bit in my eyes. And honestly I think the ending was perfect for who Caden and Billie became. The spice was top tier and if you’re a fan of dub-con/non-con this will definitely be right up your alley. Ultimately I’m curious what else is going on in North Shore in this series!

I thought I knew unhinged MMCs but then I met Caden King and oh boy, talk about top tier unhinged MMC that will have you absolutely weak in the knees and contemplating if you should call that therapist or not. This story was a wild ride and the drama between Caden & Billie had me glued to each page. The gasps I gasped had my partner quite concerned at times…*not sorry*

The audiobook narration was enjoyable. I always love Heather Firth & Corvin King’s performances, and they once again delivered with this story.
