About this listen

Start as a RECRUIT...become a SUPER-SOLDIER...end up a GALACTIC WARLORD.

Don your armor, load up on ammo, and get ready for your combat training. You don't become a badass by signing on the dotted line, you gotta earn it the hard way...same goes for your team. You have to learn to fight, how to work together, and how to lose...for the ancient origins of humanity on Earth are dark, devastating, and destined to return. Earth is going to lose, and lose badly when our time is up, but out of the ashes of defeat, we may be able to scrounge up a future if you and the other future warlords can learn how to overcome the losses and turn them to our advantage.

And the one advantage we have is the repository of ancient knowledge left behind when our former masters abandoned Earth during a civil war. They assume everyone died, but a few human slaves remained and now we live only because of that mistake.

But they didn't just make one. Their second was leaving the most heavily defended and valuable building on the planet intact because destroying it along with the others when they bugged out would be too time-consuming. Instead, they buried it and now we have limited access to the advanced technology and database inside. From it we know the truth about our ancestry, as well as the superhuman powers they laced into our genome...and because of those powers, any human not under their direct control carries with them an automatic death sentence.

So when we're found out, we're all going to die...unless you and your team can grow into the war leaders we need, figure out how to use the ancient technology as well as those who created it, and find a way to do the impossible and overcome a galactic empire millions of years old. An empire known as the V'kit'no'sat, which Earth hilariously misinterpreted as a group of extinct animals called the Dinosaurs.

Really enjoy it,but learn how to breathe…

I can see why this series is longer than Wheel of Time; the author is definitely creating a culture and a legacy with his characters. While I don’t think the idea that “proper nutrition and workouts” would prevent aging to the extent proposed by the author, using it it as a plot point in SciFi fiction is just as valid as humans beings slaves discarded by a departing alien race. That being said, the narrator of the 1st four was adequate but frequently mispronounced less common words, and the narrator of the 2nd four seemed to have an issue with pacing (don’t know how much of his voice work was start’n’stop retakes) and it felt a little awkward. So, I may mix up reading e-print versions with audio- but I WON’T give up on the series! Kudos to the author!

It's written by a sifi junky/gamer

Good books, but could BE a great book
Reader was good.

Good story. Bad opinion/science stuff. It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't built in to our worlds future then i could forgive the lack of actual science. unfortunately a few of the science things are really just based off of an opinion this leads to a lot of gaps that are fatal in this particular line of story, which then makes it feel a little bit like an agenda/ political rather than scientific or just a fun sifi book. this book is centered around becoming your best and enabling you do that is the truth.... Opinionated truth... Which is by training like Goko but more like with paintball and lots of running. Yeah and jet skis. The paint ball parts really weren't that bad. Jet skis were lame.... But I like Paul and how he finished it; it made it not lame.
spoiler alert /
Spoiler alert
In book 1 through 4 it spent a very long time expressing how there is no real physical difference between a male and a female body and that females were honestly just condition by social norms that made them physically weaker than males. if this book was not based within our own world I wouldn't have any problems with it and if it was actually relevant to the story sure... You could have mentioned the dino drugs at this point too (dino drugs or supplement are mentioned a lot in this section 5 through 8 and i honestly like the idea. Not new but a good idea for books) .... But no it was all about girlpower... I think... Maybe Morgan power... No girl power... Way to ruin a charter by making her a martyr for what exactly? That's right agenda.

Wemon are awesome in warfare when they fight. I know of two very skilled sniper that where wemon. One Russian the other from Vietnam and this is key it wasn't because they were wemon. It was because they were trianed, and not because they could beat a man in arm wrestling but because they could shot. There also Jon of arch and a Celticet Queen that killed a Roman Legion. Then there's the shield maiden of the vikings and the amazons though they don't have much proof there legends still echo today. All this does not mean all you have to be wemon to be awesome but its what you do. (you know show don't tell.... Ugh why did ihave to say that).

Okay now the dinosaur drugs... I really want exoskeletons not power endusing Dino potions; but as i siad i like it... Its just OP.... Should not have been able to treat a MMA, Ranger, SWATT, and other experts like children.... Yup lots of incongruitys. The biggest reason why is do to the author own logic and how training turns in to Goko......... But only if you're in starforce. BUT BE WHERE THE DINOS. I bet they mop the floor with them.

The Tech... Not enough and way to slow of a development.... Yup..... And he had to add swords but not tech to support the move back in time. Yes the writer does a little dancing with it but no meat.. Just tell me they have armor that can' t be hurt by bullets (even though your space ship 3 meter thick plating can't hold up to a single rale gun shot.....). And yes i like the stun effect but whats the point......

Well let me explain the point of this book and its sifi fantasy. Its a place called heaven.... Don't believe me :} well i never siad what type of heaven. Endless amounts of paint ball wars and water parks, where you can train with the very best of the best, while you make space ship and other toys, and best of all: video games lots and lots of them.... Yet still training for 6 hour a day just for physical conditioning. However the biggest sign that its heaven is you are respected and mybe even revrents by every one else... Oh the class that come after you are your peons; they really suck... Because you trained so much better.... Gage me... Yeah i don't get it... There's better ways to show there awesomeness other then being Op.... But you did make me rethink the Jeidi...

It's a good book..... But it could be great. Needs to be refined to cut out the crap, choppyness, and to give it a bit more meat. However it does have 89 books or something maybe i can find some gold.

Omg Get a new narrator again

The story is great the narration is painful. Stop putting pauses in the middle of a sentence. It makes us see that sentence as having a period in the middle of it. The last narrator did the same damn thing. For future reference to anybody who gets the job of narrating these books, stop pausing in the middle of the sentence.

Good start, the storyteller is not a reader

In a series with 84 some odd books, writing it off after the first book or the first 5 books is shallow thinking.
My only complaint is the reader of the first 4 books.

Much better than 1-4

Book 1-4 was read by a monotone woman. It was very distracting to the story. Especially when she mispronounced more technical words. Although the monotone was pretty horrible. This is definitely preformed much better.

Book 5-8 is an interesting mix. I'm not fond of some of the later books as it goes away from the crux which is these folks literally must save the human race from an unimaginably advanced and ruthless enemy. These four show pretty well just how stupid the human race can be. Which makes it a better story.

Better

This better. The narrator was superb compared to the previous narrator. The gets better by book 8, but overall it still seems like it's preaching to you more than entertaining you.

The characters have one major flaw in their philosophy. If you are always training, then what's the point? You don't have time to do anything else, and your life is wasted. At some point you have to stop training, and put your skills to work in something useful.

The worst possible narrator. Sounds like 3rd grade teacher

The story line is good sci-fi although it repeats itself over and over again. The talent reading the story ruins any chance it may of had to being a good story. Sorry but try a little emotion, your cadence of 4 words and starting again is enough to get me to spill all secrets I held. Good book horrible audible narration.

A serial from the 1950s.

The way this story is written and narrated reminds me of the weekly serial included with the double feature movie "Red Rider and Little Beaver" and Roy Rogers movies." Very entertaining for a twelve year old but not so much for a adult.
I am writing this one off.
