About this listen

Over 1600 years ago, God raised up a man named Patrick to take the Gospel of Christ to the people of Ireland. Seldom in church history has any missionary been blessed with a more fruitful ministry. The preaching of Patrick was used by God to transform many of the Irish people from idol-worshiping pagans into servants of the one true God of Scripture.

This biography seeks to vividly portray the true story of Saint Patrick and to encourage 21st-century Christians to be faithful to the great commission of Christ to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

Saint Patrick of Ireand

The exceptional story of the man who brought the salvific love of our Lord Jesus to this pagan land. The performance was indeed blessed.

A wonderful story of how one man can change a people forever through Christ

A super quick and interesting read. All Christians should read this book.

It was a true Christian story. St Patrick was a British man who devoted his life to spreading the Gospel to the very people who enslaved him in Ireland.

The Irish or Celtic people as they were called were into worshipping Pagan gods and idols and were hostile to Christianity and Christians.

St. Patrick feared resisting what God had called him to do over what the Celts would do to him and he eventually won over the country to Christianity.

Ireland owes a great deal to St Patrick for saving them but also helping to create their new culture.

I loved this book. It’s not 1 million pages of stuff you’re not going to care about. It’s short and sweet but gives you enough to show the incredible life St Patrick lived.

St Patrick’s Day shouldn’t be about drinking, it should always be about proclaiming your faith in God and honoring St Patrick for guiding a people to Jesus.

5/5 stars.

Very Interesting Story - but - Anti Catholic tone

Well written and an easy listen. Grat Storytoo! To have a book about St. Patrick with such an anti-Catholic undertone was disheartening. Not a big fan of the questions and vocab words at the end either.

☘️ St. Patrick ☘️

I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.

Nice, but a word of caution...

This is a nice story (at least the part that I listened to, which is more than half.)  But from several comments thrown in here and there, it is evidently written by a Protestant. The author is trying to portray a Catholic saint as if he was a Protestant, although Protestants didn't even exist until the 16th century. Before that time, all Christians were Catholic.

For example, there was a comment about the Bible being the only source of  Revelation, denying the doctrine that the Catholic (true Christian) Faith has always held about Divine Tradition:  the truths passed on from Christ by the teaching Church which He founded which were not recorded in the Bible. This is proved by the Bible itself in John 21:25:    "But there are also many other things which Jesus did which, if they were written every one, the world itself. I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written."

Disappointed by the protestant view.

A great saint and a very interesting story. However, I was disappointed by the apology the book makes of Martin Luther ideas, while narrating the life of a catholic bishop.
