The intonation of the narrator is robotic, using peculiar emphasis that hurts the ear. The limit was when TACO was pronounced TA-KO with emphasis on the first syllable.
Whatever happens in pelican cove will need to happen without me.

Pretty predictable and boring too longwinded and not suspenseful the end by me no more

Engaging stories

Interesting characters, older than typical for cozy mysteries, who have rich backgrounds and cut across social and economic levels. Really engaging stories. Enjoyed every minute of it. Virtual voice narration was pretty good, had some trouble pronouncing the a few of the main characters’ names. I may read them all again!

AI voice is TERRIBLE- pelican cove mysteries

AI voice is FLAT. Does not have different tones for different characters! The AI voice does not know how to differentiate a word based on content (I.e.: present - a gift vs present - in attendance. Or read - completed a reading. Vs read - to be articulating a book or magazine content). AI voices for audiobooks need to evolve before replacing a HUMAN narrator.

This is too bad for this author.

The horrible plot and characters

The main character is wishy washy. There is conflict that doesn’t move the story forward making it seem like the author is confused by their own story. There are specific details about a charm necklace that lend nothing to the story and no details about the murders that are to be solved.

The writing reminds me of a book you’d get off a 3rd grade reading list

Poor narration

I’ve never written a review before but I felt I needed to this time. The AI narration is horrible. I couldn’t get past the second chapter of the first book. The story is okay but it was hard to connect with the story line because of the weird inflections in the narration. It’s a hard pass on this one for me.
