About this listen

What do you call an assassin who’s had a change of heart?
A coward?
A hero?
Or Talvi Marinossian?

Just when Annika thought she and Talvi were headed off into the sunset of marital bliss, duty calls. Pushed to the limits of his moral code, Talvi must choose between the empire he serves and the woman he loves.

But first, a detour…straight into the half-demon heart of enemy territory, where Talvi enters into a perilous arrangement with the ruler of the largest kingdom in the Ellunian Empire—

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Fallon Blackwood

Sacred Son of Sinaryos

Admiral of the Royal Sinaryan Navy

Keeper of the Chimeras

And through his ancient bloodline, a direct descendant of the first demonborn dark elves.

In other words, he’s not someone you want to let down.

In no uncertain terms, Prince Fallon warns Talvi that if he can’t keep his end of the bargain, he won’t be the one who suffers the most. Taking her husband’s advice to “just be her charming self”, Annika must do everything she can to survive her stay at Blackwood Castle. Faced with deadly chimeras, a sadistic prince on the prowl, and a court whose opinion of her changes like the tides, it might take more than the song of a samodiva to win them over.

For Talvi and Annika, the stakes have never been higher.

This final installment of the Annika Brisby series contains darker content than previous books.

Unique and entertaining series!

Narrator did a good job. Enjoyed the listen! Quality recording and performance.

This has been an unique, interesting series! Enjoy the Elf element, and the whole human, elf in love scenario. Annika and Talvi have gone through some crazy times and have continued to prove their connection is solid. Wonderful connection between these two! This book has more craziness and adventure; twists and suspense! I’d recommend reading from the beginning for the best reading experience; this series has been a journey. It’s been an entertaining, fun series!

Perfect "Ending" for this couple

The ending is unexpected, but you can tell this won't be the last we hear of this couple. Whether through the eyes of a new couple or their future children; we will see them again. And that narrator...amazing choice! The tones and voice change only add further value! Well done.

Great ending to the Annika Brisby story

Good Read. I will say that you obviously need to read the previous books in the Annika Brisby series, but you should also read the Navi Navarro Chronicles Series books 1-2.

While this book does close up quite a few loose ends for Annika and Talvi. I will say that I do wish they had more page time together. I know this is the last book for them, but I would love another book where they are together for all of it. It sucks that they haven't had a full book together since book one. :(

I do want to say that even though this books is great and well written, there is forced sexual acts.

This book leaves us where The Darkest Dream leaves off. Annika and Talvi traveling to give the news that Prince Dillon is still alive and in prison. Once the news of Prince Dillion is delivered they are again separated, Talvi to retrieve the prince and Annika is kept at the castle as incentive to return.

I liked the relationship between Navi and Annika, I loved how it was instant. I also liked that we got to see more of Prince Fallon and Navi's relationship. Prince Triston is again smudging the story and I can say that I like him even less in this book than I did the other series.

There are some twists and turns and places that leave you wondering why or what is going on. We keep wondering if/when Talvi will return.

The book was a good end to the series, with enough left open that we could get more in the future. I can see them showing up if we get more from the Navi Navarro Series or another spin off from there. I would love to see more of all of them.

I read/listened to the audiobook of this and I have to say it was great just like the previous ones. Nick Cracknell is amazing. I love how when Annika is singing we get to hear music in the background as well as a singer singing. Amazing. I am very happy I read this book.

Disappointing ending to an otherwise excellent

It seems like the ending was not nearly as well thought out as the previous books. Things were wrapped up too neatly without addressing some of the subplots that were in earlier books in the series. What happened with Yuri’s part in the prophecy? Etc…
