When people say “Bring back yearning in books!” This is the book I should start recommending to them! The need Daios had for Anya easily made me feral to keep reading; I am obsessed with the “villain” tough guy only being soft for her, and Daios is absolutely that!

While I’m looking forward to continuing this series I can’t say that I’m as crazy excited to read about Maketes yet. I’m sure I’ll love it but I need a moment to mourn not reading about Daios and Anya for a little while longer!

Emma Hamm delivers again

Wow, Ms Hamm has given us another fantastic tale, with a completely reproach- less FMC. I love her female characters..... if only for the fact that they are not cry babies. And although I also love her male characters, this is the first paranormal/fantasy/sci Fi romance novel I have listened to/read, whereby the MMC scares the bejeesus out of me. He is really intimidating, his size, his voice, his character, his countenance, his possibly sized weiner😉? his future behaviors....... he scares me. He sounds like an actual monster. I don't dislike him, but I found him terrifying. I loved Arges and look forward to marketes's story. But is this book worth a read or a listen..... ABSO-FORKING-LUTELY. !!!!! Loved it Emma Hamm, you are one heaven of a writer.!!!.

A lovely sequel. Now I REALLY want a story involving one of the of the female people of water/ Undines. Bonus points if it’s a gay story

Another great book to listen to but how in God's name did you take the character who was so hated in book one and make him my favorite? like? huh? I love him. A lot. I would fight the ocean herself for him.

I’m really enjoying this series. I think this also did a good job of depicting characters who deal with trauma and disability in a fantasy setting. The narration is still top tier here. So excited for the next book!

same as the first book. The storyline was sublime, and I loved every aspect of it. The voice acting was outstanding; Carmen and Will are my favorites. So many good books suffer from poor voice acting, but these two truly elevated the experience. I can’t get enough! i need the 3rd book

Amazing, this one was faster paced and I enjoyed that more. Same amazing cast, A+ plot

Human x merman living under the sea!

This was another fun addition to the series! In this future, humans can no longer live on the surface of earth so they’ve built cities in underwater domes in the sea and have lived there for centuries (possibly?). So each book has a bit of a communication barrier between the characters since the heroine is human and the hero is Undine (like merpeople).

Anya is the general’s daughter and has always just done what is told of her by her father. Daios is a merman and a tortured hero. He sees Anya one day and is so mesmerized by her (and her “twin tails” aka legs 🤭) but also knows the lengthy history between his people and cruel humans. He’s a tortured hero who thinks he isn’t worthy of her and that if she saw other men she’d pick them over him. So he has lots to work through, PTSD from traumas as well. I liked these two together! I think stacked against the series so far, I’ve liked the prequel novella couple the most, then the couple of book 1, and now this couple from book 2. Like it’s a solid series for sure and I’m entertained with this Atlantis-living under the sea vibe overall!

LOVED IT

I’m obsessed with these two! The story is heartwarming, the world building is immersive, and the narrators are absolutely perfect. I’m so ready for the next one to come out!
