About this listen

After watching Yvvestrosai burn, Damon is headed home with sore feet and a broken heart. There’s no avoiding what he must tell Malon and Vel. The weight of losing Ria, his partner, his wife, is inescapable.

His travels are hard even setting aside his personal struggles. He’s a wanted man and a dangerous man, with his myrblade at the height of its power in the midst of winter. It’s a fact which others recognize, a fact which makes him valued as much as feared.

A meeting between the Godking and the reigning monarch of Merinia presents a rare opportunity to take action. Damon, Kastet, and Wrath have a chance, an opening, to reset the balance of Veridan’s Curve and plot a new future for the region.

Will they seize it?

Acceleration

Overall I love this series. This book brought closure to many of the main arcs in the series with an unexpected twist at the end. That said, I thought the ending could have used a bit more. What exactly happened with Lucivious? Melen? Also the four never really got to talk about their "evolved" relationship. I would have liked to see them come to terms explicitly with the harem relationship they all shared. The ending implied that this really hadn't happened but also clues that that there may be another book?

Giving Up?

Series has been a good evolution. Complex story with just the right amount of divine intervention.

Then….it ends. No explanations no resolutions. So many plots left untouched.

Sorry but disappointed.

The story is back on track… towards a cliffhanger.

It’s more of the same, just better and the story progresses unlike last book. It has an annoying ending - I cant tell if it’s a recording error or weird and rushed writing. In either case this book offers you an out, if you are tired of the series. It’s both a giant cliffhanger and a sort of weird ending.

The overall score is probably a solid 4, but I really dont like cliffhangers like this, so I removed 1 star. I’m ok with small cliffhangers as a teaser, but this book’s ending goes from 100 to 0 in a second.
