About this listen

The month of May finds Charity trying out new hobbies and learning new customs. With Detective Sota insisting she learn to protect herself and a handful of customers itching to learn to sew clothing, she is up to her eyeballs in serape and all out of free time.

As if she doesn't have enough on her plate, the party planner cancels, and she finds herself in charge of the Cinco de Mayo festivities for the party she had scheduled at her store, Sassy Supplies Crafts & More.

Everything that could go wrong had, she told herself; nothing else could come up in one short week. Unfortunately, one little phone call proved that belief false.

Can she keep up with all of her regular obligations and investigate when Grampy's friend calls her for help, from a jail cell?

Fantastic Cozy

Serape and Scapegoats is Book 7 in an outstanding cozy mystery series by Katherine H Brown. Cinco de Mayo is the background for Charity's store, Sassy Supplies Crafts. I think that each audio book brings the characters forward in life and their relationships. Charity is still dating her hot boyfriend, Detective Sota, she lives with her grandfather, Grampy, and she needs to hire a new employee for her store... of course there is the stolen money from the police lock-up! Charity is hot on the trail of the thief. I love how the author unfolds the story and clues as I try to figure out who stole the money and why. Louise Cookery is outstanding in her performance of the story. I can't wait to listen to Book 8, Fireworks and Fraud.

Cute Cozy Mystery

I enjoyed book 7 in the "Sassy Supplies Cozy Mystery" very much. Charity has agreed to help her grandfather's friend, who has been arrested. I was entertained by the way the story unfolded as Charity investigated the crime that her grandfather's friend was accused of committing. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Louise Cooksey's narration was delightful as she sets up the ambiance with her performance. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
