Publisher's summary

Lucy Valentine is as smart as can be, as single as you can get, and so not qualified to run a matchmaking service. But when her parents temporarily step down from the family business, Valentine, Inc., it's Lucy's turn to step up and help out - in the name of love.

Plus, her rent is due.

Here's the problem: Lucy doesn't have the knack for matchmaking. According to family legend, every Valentine has been blessed by Cupid with the ability to read "auras" and pair up perfect couples. But not Lucy. Her skills were zapped away years ago in an electrical surge, and now all she can do is find lost objects. What good is that in the matchmaking world? You'd be surprised. In a city like Boston, everyone's looking for something. So when Lucy locates a missing wedding ring - on a dead body - she asks the sexy private eye who lives upstairs to help her solve the perfect crime. And who knows? Maybe she'll find the perfect love while she's at it…

I can’t do it

I’m on the 4th chapter but returning this book. Seems like the story might be good but I can’t take the narration one more minute.

Second time reading and still love it

This was my second time reading this book and I find myself still in love with it. Really a fun and quick read. Goofy and light hearted. Almost wish there was a movie....

Enjoyed it

Interesting new story with psychic twist. I enjoyed the setting in New England. The characters were very real. I plan to continue the series.

was a great story with fun characters.

I found Heather Webber from her other books, and I love both.
Entertaining characters, that feel real...even with the "magic". It is a story that I know I will come back to again and again.

Love Dina Perlman but...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Dina Perlman is great but Lucy is a lifelong Massachusetts resident and Dina has a southern accent

What was one of the most memorable moments of Truly, Madly?

I'm midway through and enjoying the story

Would you be willing to try another one of Dina Pearlman’s performances?

She's great as Savannah Reid in that series but I may not continue with this series. I'm from Massachusetts and for some reason the narration is irritating to me

Was Truly, Madly worth the listening time?

Yes

Glacial romance

Any additional comments?

The romance in the story was slow moving and bland. 4 books in and the couple are still trying to form a deep connection, which is a shame because the narrator is humorous and light hearted, which I usually enjoy. Overall the characters just left me rolling my eyes and the romance lacked the heat that could have made up for that. It felt like I was listening to the toned down love story I'd relay to my bible bashing mum.

The Perfect Narrator

Have you listened to any of Dina Pearlman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all of Dina Pearlman's narrations for Heather Webber's books. She is absolutely perfect with different voices for the different characters. I can't wait for the next installment because this narrator brings the characters to life. I'm hooked!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

definitely

Truly moves kind of slow

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Less time talking about her special skill & more time actually using them

Would you be willing to try another book from Heather Webber? Why or why not?

Yeah maybe see if there is another series

Have you listened to any of Dina Pearlman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No complaints with Dinas performance at all.

Do you think Truly, Madly needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There already is

Will be listening to all in this series

I just got off a streak of audiobooks that I got on sale that were either so-so or disappointing and was vowing to not get sucked into one of those sales ever again. This was one of those sale books. I guess you do find a gem every now and then when you take a chance! This was a great book. I was skeptical due to the cover and the title looking like it might be one of those silly chick lit kind of books but it was really good, great character development, likeable characters, meaty and interesting story, has humor, great writing, kept my interest, story moved along well.If you like Stephanie Plum novels you'll probably like this. Good narrator too. I'll be listening to all the books in this series!
