About this listen

When a jilted romance novelist escapes to a small beach town, the last thing she expected to find was the start of an even better love story.

In the wake of a broken engagement and the death of her last surviving family member, romance novelist Maya Reynolds moves to the haven of Coral Cove, North Carolina, to take over her great-aunt’s toy store. Some of her grief is immediately eased when she is talked into adopting a kitten by the local veterinarian’s daughter, eight-year-old Ashlyn.

Ashlyn’s dad, local veterinarian Brody Tanner, is quickly smitten by the newest resident of his hometown—but as a single father, his focus is entirely on his little girl, and a romantic entanglement with Maya is not a distraction he is looking for.

In spite of himself, Brody’s bond with Maya deepens, but in the little seaside town where Maya experienced some of her happiest childhood memories, clouds cast a shadow over her hope for the future. But together, they just might discover that sometimes happy endings happen outside the pages of Maya’s novels, too.

Critic reviews

“Grieving and brokenhearted, novelist Maya Reynolds moves to Coral Cove, the place where she felt happiest as a child. An old family secret upends Maya’s plan for a fresh start, as does her longing to love and be loved. The View from Coral Cove is Amy Clipston at her best—a tender story of hope, healing, and a love that’s meant to be.” —Suzanne Woods Fisher, bestselling author of On a Summer Tide

“Amy Clipston writes a sweet and tender romance filled with a beautiful look at how love brings healing to broken hearts. This small-town romance, with an adorable little girl and cat to boot, is a great addition to your TBR list.” —Pepper Basham, author of The Mistletoe Countess and the Mitchell’s Crossroads series

A lovely story of love and kindness.

I absolutely loved how a woman learned her worth knowing she could love again and heal from her past.

A Hallmark Movie

A Great feel good story that is well written and doesn't have everyone feeling sorry for themselves. The love story is a bit over done for the male character, but the drama is still believeable. Perfect reading for anyone who wants a story with friends, family and a great small town environment.

Excellent Read!!!

Amy Clipston's book has many wonderful stories within the overall novel. And all the pieces fit together, making this a hard-to-put-down. I definitely recommend "The View from Coral Cove."

Just Wow!

This book is my new favorite. You get all different emotions throughout the book. The feeling of hope, love, and empathy for Maya. I was saddened when I only had a minute left of the book. I’ll definitely reread this book and recommend it to anyone who is a hopeless romantic.

A View from Coral Cove

This was a well written novel and Yes I had some tears on and off. I did have some trouble with the narrator. Tried changing the speed and it seemed as if she was not really with it with the story itself. The speed did not seem to make it any better. I have listened to other stories she had narrated and they were really right on. I guess the problem I felt was she was not really feeling the words of the story she was reading that day.

Loved the theme of the Toy Store that it was family owned by her Late Great Aunt. It also was taking place right at the Ocean's Coral Cove. Much going on to do beside shop and swim. She was a well loved store owner and her Children's Birthday Tea Party room. Do not want to give away the theme of the story other than the family ties turned out to be there. Very sweet.

I have read many of Amy Clipston's stories and this was not at the top of the list for me. I still have her as one of my favorites. Stayed right with it to the end.

I liked the beach setting

The two main characters were rather frustrating in their hesitation about commitment especially Brody.
Maya acted quite immature about her reasons for wanting to get married because wanting a family. Is not
Enough to choose the wrong person.
