About this listen

The reading of the will takes place in 21 days....

Miss Madeline Pickett is on her way to London, to hug the family she never knew, and the sister she’s always wished for. Jace Remington has been sent from London to unmask the scheming fortune huntress claiming to be a missing relative. Though, perhaps he should not have masqueraded as the expert Scottish outdoorsman who will escort Madeline on her journey.

Secret Sister is the story of a young woman about to meet the sister she’s never known, and her adventures on the way to London escorted by an impostor.

Stayed up late to finish this one!

It is now 3.30 AM. I had to stay up and finish this book. I have been reading it for a while, but it was hard to put down.
AS you have already probably guessed, I totally loved this story. It was enchanting.
There were lots of laugh out loud moments, but lots of moving moments as well. Madeline, was totally lovable, along with mrs Cork, Mr Dunken, and of course her grandfather. The character dynamics were great.
Would highly recommend this book.

Refreshingly romantic, sweet, story.

I was very pleased with the fact that there are still authors who can write an engaging romantic tale, suitable for all audiences, using their natural talent and laugh out loud sense of humor, versus gratuitous sexuality.
What a joy to listen to without worry of censorship or younger ears.
Vastly entertaining and this narrator is my very favorite thus far with her authentic British accent and wonderful voice inflections to distinguish well developed characters by.
I was carried into the past, rooting for the sisters, and disappointed when the book was finished, (but kept smiling for several days upon thinking of the memorable and realistic antics and shenanigans).
A+++

Romantic and funny:)

This is the second book by Ms Louise that I've listened to and I like it as much as the first one. It's fast-paced, it's romantic and it's funny:)

Madeline is a sweet girl who unexpectedly discovers she has a sister she's always dreamed of. All she wants is to meet her - but why not have an adventure on the way to London first? Luckily, Mr Duncan, her grandfather's Scottish hunter-friend, is there to bodyguard and guide her in her forest outing. But why does he not know how to put a tent up, how to fish, or how to set a bonfire...? That's only one of the secrets the story is full of...:)

The book is full of warm humour, too. There is more than one conversation that will bring a smile to your lips, and the entanglements that all the characters find themselves in will keep that smile on your face. Maybe that's why it's impossible not to like Madeline, Jace and their friends and family members (well, most of them:)).

Ms Louise seems to have a knack for creating stories that - although you may consider them a little over the top with the amount of coincidences:) - will make you read/listen eagerly while keeping your fingers crossed for the main characters to finally find their happily ever after:)

Narration by Ms Jillings is great. She adds another layer of warmth to the story and makes even the nasty, vicious characters feel human. She also reads at a good pace, and does well both male and female voices.

Delightfully Dramatic

Mistaken identity, an outdoor adventure, a family secret, and more make this an enjoyable story! It has a hint of mystery, misunderstandings, and plenty of humor, making it perfect for various audiences. I very much enjoyed it and absolutely recommend it!

Tea for Two

i just love Doro Jillings as the narrator. She brings the story alive. Miss Pickett, Madeline, has just learned that she has a sister and other family members. She is called to London for the reading of the will of her deceased Father. Of course, she wants to make this trip an outing, as she has never been outside of her small village. Her escort is Mr. Duncan, aka Jace. Who was sent to find out everything about Madeline. This begins the fun and problems. The characters are funny, witty and likeable. The story will keep you entertained.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
