2023 Illustrated Edition
Illustrated book ‘How To Frame A Murder: Part One: Cat Painting Mystery’ is part of the Ronin: Have Sword– Will Travel Mystery series. It's part 1 of 2 of How To Frame A Murder.
In How To Frame A Murder: Part One: Cat Painting Mystery, Horo-sha (the female ronin) and Riko (a streetwise boy) form a duo of crime-fighting investigators. They start their first official case together and investigate a simple theft of a painting, but the case turns horribly wrong when the suspects start dying. Horo-sha is confronted with a dilemma of mind and spirit as, for the first time, a murder is committed right under her watchful eyes. Her apt mind is guilt-riddled but she pushes forward to solve this unthinkable crime
After the events in the prequel and Horo-sha's origin story, 'The Missing Japanese Chin Mystery', Horo-sha and Riko travel to a neighboring town to investigate the theft of a Calico Japanese Bobtail Cat watercolor painting called 'Staring Feline'. Horo-sha probes the servants and residents of the estate and is about to reveal the thief when tragedy strikes. Horo-sha, even working as a solo private investigator, has never been present when a murder was committed. She always arrived after the fact until today. Horo-sha must come to terms that she could have prevented the murder and discover the culprit before the killer strikes again. There is more to this mystery than a simple theft of valuable artwork
Maji… a world fusing East and West cultures, during an era before the emergence of the steam engine. The sword was the ultimate weapon and brought order to the planet under the Emperor. Enter this alternate reality and see a fusing of two cultures. Travel through the world of Horo-sha and see a glimpse of the age of the samurai full of intrigue and suspense. The story with a female detective lead is a cozy mystery book. Enjoy this mysteries story and watch as the lady sleuth tries to solve a murder.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?
