About this listen

I am officially a divorcee who is muddling through a midlife crisis. As if being single in my 40s isn't traumatizing enough, my ex tried to kill me, my best friend thinks orcs are coming after us, the town is convinced I'm a witch, and my daughter moved back in with me.

These last few months have been a hectic ride, and the fun isn't over yet. I'm in dire need of a job, so the smart thing would be to apply for some mind-numbing work. Something easy where all you have to do is show up. The bills must be paid. Instead, I've decided to go out on a scary limb and open my own shop.

What was I thinking?

As if I am not stressing enough, I am having a string of horrid luck. Attempted murder. Assault. Vandalism. Someone is trying to mess up my life. And I'm so done with it.

I've been given a second chance. I am on my way to becoming a happier, healthier me, and I am not letting anyone screw that up.

But what am I supposed to do when the line between reality and the impossible starts to blur? Do I see a doctor for medication or begin to accept that, just maybe, magic does exist? And would somebody please find my ex-husband? He's escaped jail and is apparently threatening to kill me again.

Contains mature themes.

4 and a half

On My Way is an entertaining and enjoyable book. I like Naomi's character and the plot of the book. The only thing I don't like is that there is a lot unsaid about the paranormal activity surrounding Naomi and some of the dialog with her paramours go on for to long.

If your over 40 you'll get a good laugh

Enjoyed this series so far. A book that can make me laugh as far as I'm concerned is great. At first I thought the main character was really dumb. Her ability to ignore danger many times had me upset because no one could be that stupid but my life is different. When she finally realizes she's in danger she does come to terms with her abilities. Overall worth the credit. A good laugh.

fun listen

I've enjoyed this narrator before in other books and generally in this one. I just find it so annoying how the book has sounds spelled out and the narrator has to read them I e. "oof", "crinkle" etc. Just a personal irritation, others may not find it so. I do enjoy the series!

Love this series

I have really enjoyed this series. The heroine is me all over again. So nice to see that others feel about their body the same way I do. Nice to see it in print and she is trying but still struggles.
The whole plot is fun and keeps me interested in what is happening next. Can’t wait for the next one.

Man, I tried

After the first book of the series was almost nonstop pity party By the main character, I thought it’d be out of the way for the second. I did like all the supporting characters in the book just not the main one. Unfortunately I was wrong, this book also was nonstop pity party. I’m done with this series. The occasionally funny parts, interesting side characters and excellent narration could not redeem the constant droning of the main character, over and over again. It was sadly more frustrating to listen to then entertaining.

Annoying

The main character is overwhelmingly annoying. Her stubbornness and brushing off of situations like they didn't happen is enough to make my eyes roll way too many times. Her not telling people things that are happening is just infuriating. This second book is worse than the first in those aspects. It had so much potential. This is my favorite genre but I was very disappointed.

Slow read

The main character is repetitively self-deprecating, obsessed with her nether regions and needs to get over it to move the story along. The characters and setting are good but the magical excitement is stunted. Not sure I’ll even finish the third book.

What is this

I'm so disappointed in this book. Couldn't finish it. I liked the first one well enough. This book was whiney, and the main character so stupid. It's supposed to be about a woman coming into her magic, she is so lame and so in denial that she doesn't realize a new garage showed up with a car in it over night... seriously? The final straw for me was the CONSTANT talk of the MC peeing herself, ad nauseum. Why?? I want me credit back. The only upside was the narrator. Don't waste your credit.

Good but not excellent

A typical weak heroine though the narrator is excellent. The fault it the author and the author did a very poor show with the struggles with weight gain. She was pushing this high fat food like it was a savior of this heroine —. It was disgusted —- hey but she was pushing cheese and bacon and alcohol. If the author had at least use some research with a real professional would’ve been a little bit more reality based. Heroine was pushed on boob jobs or Uber strict diet that really cannot work long-term. Research much? I’m embarrassed for the author. It was distracting. The authors body shape issues were the weirdest part in this book, and it was very odd. The only thing I learned from the author is that people are bad and skinny people are good. Disappointing for the women and men who have all different shapes and sides.. I didn’t care about the witch part or the other plot because it was just too confusing. But I bought the whole series so I’ll stick through it.
