About this listen

They battle demons and monsters, hunt ghosts, and defend us against the things that go bump in the night. They are occult detectives, and they've been a staple of pulp fiction since the beginning of those glorious, garish magazines. Now Airship 27 Productions is thrilled to bring you a quartet of tales starring some of the most unique occult detectives ever created; three newly minted heroes and one classic master of mysticism. From the days of the Wild West, Joel Jenkins offers up his Indian shaman hero, Lone Crow. Then we have Josh Reynold's colorful Charles St. Cyprian, the queen's own royal occultist, followed by Jim Beard's Sgt. Janus, the spirit breaker. And we culminate with a little known pulp classic figure: Ravenwood, the Stepson of Mystery, as chronicled by Ron Fortier. Get ready to take on possessed gunfighters, eerie mesmerizing spirits, a bewitching temptress, and a legion of the undead as these four brand new tales usher you into thrilling adventures beyond the realm of the ordinary. Your guides...the Occult Detectives.

TOP NOTCH NARRATION

These stories are very good, but the narrator makes them even more fun with his voices.

excellent stories, good narration

This was a fun listen. I especially liked the Charles St. Ciprian story and the daughter of Dracula story.

They beat the heck out of Poirot!

Four original stories set in the pulp era by what I deem to be masters in this field. I was not familiar with any of these characters, but I quickly grew to love them. I'll be loking to see if they have any other books out a stand alone characters, as they were all fun and exciting to see in action.

I am a lover of pulp novels and OTR shows, heck when I dream I have commercials done by Blue Coal before I finish my sleep. There is just something about that era, the writing style, the people, the way of thinking . . .something that I just love. This book will open a portal to that time, and introduce you to some amazing characters. I've read Fortier's stuff before, and I knew that whatever he did was going to be amazing, but the others have given me other writers that I can turn to now when I need a good pulp fixin'.

Waldron does a great job as the narrator too. I can't wait to hear more from him.

Don't stop there!

Want to read more about all four detectives. The story featuring Sgt. Janus was the weakest, but the character has potential. The narrator was excellent.
