About this listen

A freak accident leaves childhood friends Aiden and Scarlet dead and stranded in Hazard Online, a VR MMORPG.

They're pushed to the brink of their sanity as they awaken with the knowledge of their death and are thrust into an experimental expansion, which only further threatens to tear them apart.

They ally with two young women who seem to know much more than they're letting on and an AI Overmind who offers them a deal. But perhaps it's better to let some secrets stay hidden, and sacrificing their humanity may be the only way to survive....

Note: Contains explicit sexual situations, foul language, polygamy, and all that other goodness you expect in a LitRPG novel! Only for 18-plus, so listen at your own risk.

SAO meets medieval

I absolutely LOVED this book! Such an amazing story with so much action at every turn!

I can’t wait for the next one to come out, I’m beyond excited for how the story continues!

Wild Ride

Definitely not what I was expecting. It was written in the Russian style of gamelit novels, with less crunchiness than most. The character's emotions were completely wild and bipolar, but it was actually realistic for people who had just died and ended up in their situation. The MC got everything handed to him on a silver platter, but that was what tipped him off to the experiments the big baddies were doing to him. The plot was good and since we only lived about 3 days in the book it was more about emotional reckoning than moving through to a goal. Once I understood what the MC was going through I thought that his actions and his friends actions lined up with what could be expected, but each of these people is extremely flawed so don't expect societal norms. This book also has a lot of happytimes explicitness so don't read it unless you're ok with adult situations.

Pretty Rough

I liked the story overall however it definitely has issues. the narrator did pretty well for the most part but would make some of the characters have random accents and then not have them. The conversations between characters felt really forced. The motivations of the characters make hardly any sense at times and the progression of the relationship between them wasn't very smooth. Almost none of the characters generated very much sympathy for their plights.

A Good Story!

This was a Good Book with interesting characters. I was happy with the plot and found it generally very interesting. It just needed to be tightened up a bit. I certainly will buy a sequel.

was ok

story ok but editing wasn't great. story say one thing then little later exact opposite happens.
example story say all thought, speech ,text is recorded and reviewed but they manage to have several private conversation about subject they were told not to talk text ECT about
narration drove up wall. Paralyzation is NOT pronounced polarized

Story not bad, narrator not so good.

The story over all is not bad, but not great either. The narrators lisp kept pulling me out of the story.

English, do you speak it?

I enjoyed the story but the many, many mispronounced words by the narrator takes you out of the flow of the dialogue.

it is paralysis. not palarasis. there are several more but that was the most abused.

does no one listen for quality control?

It’s a keeper

While I usually delete most books after listening to them. I’m definitely going to have to go back and listen to this one again. There’s enough action on and off the battlefield that you won’t even see the plot twist at the end sneaking up on you.

It’s a great shame on audible not to have book two ready for purchase yet.

hard to follow character development

the story concept was good but I had a hard time following the character development it seemed like someone who was unable to keep a train of thought in the character development. I caught myself re-listening to the same Parts over and over again in order to separate the characters especially the women and how quickly their personalities changed it was very difficult to continue listening.
